Translation Notes

Initial Intent

My aim is first and foremost to translate all random events in a way that the original authors’ intent
in game procedure is safeguarded. To that end, I have kept all original punctuation, unless used as
the introduction to an event, and kept all capital letters given to common nouns.

About Gyges’ Decimal Version

Regime names have been harmonized with Mark Bygney’s ( Gyges ) choices for his English Rules.
The only exception is my use of “dread” ( deep fear ) instead of his “wrath” ( deep anger )
for the Epouvante regime. In french there is a strict gradation of peur ( fear ) turning into
terreur ( terror ), then into épouvante ( dread ).

Errata

All game conditions needed by an event to happen have been moved from the end or body of the
respective events to their start, following this writing : ( *game condition ).

In Legislative / Economy / 4. : the original document lacked "becomes neutral" to Bordeaux.

In Legislative / Paris Commune / 3. : the original document stated "If "no" : Commune -2" but it
makes no sense for the Commune to be sated by the refusal of its proposal. The fourth and
tenth events' organization was taken as reference for my modification.
In Terror / Counter-revolution / 5. : changed "same as 2." to "same as 4.", the original effect
seemed to be a typo in comparison to the other effects in the same category.
In Prairial / Counter-revolution / 5. : the same mistake that was present in Terror is corrected, as the
whole paragraph from Terror / Counter-revolution is reused here.
In Federal First Republic / Paris Commune / 8. : changed “same as 8.” to “same as 7.”, the
original effect was definitely a typo.
