Reflective Questions
Name: Laurence B. Clemente Section: BSBA-MM 1-3D Date: Jan.5, 2023 Group no.3

Before this lesson, did you have background knowledge about the topic? If you did, what
new things did you learn? If this is all new to you, what did you gain from the lesson? (10points)

Even before I learned about this lesson, I already had some background knowledge about
fundamental movements, specifically the difference between locomotor and non-locomotor
movements. We already discussed it during our high school years, so I was aware that locomotor
movements require a person to move or travel from one place to another, in contrast to non-
locomotor movements. Both are fundamental movement skills that involve different parts of the
body. After learning this lesson, I learned some examples of locomotor and non-locomotor
movements. Locomotor movements include walking, running, hopping, jumping, leaping,
skipping, and sliding. While, non-locomotor movements include bracing the core dead bug, rolling,
bird dog series, press up, cobra stretch, squat, scapular retraction and protraction, and stationary
lunge. Through this lesson, I learned that these skills are significant in our lives not only because
they can improve our overall health but also because they are the basis for every movement we
do every day. As I learn about these locomotor and non-locomotor movements, I am also
gradually understanding the importance of doing regular exercises to stay active and healthy,
which motivates me to incorporate them into my daily routine. .
