1 What Volume of paint would required to cover an areas of 300 square meters, to a specified
DFT of 65 micron, using a paint of 45% volume solid?
43.35% -
Area (A) = 300m2 WFT = Volume / Area
Volume = WFT x Area
45DFT
(vs) = 65
X micron
10 = 6.92m2/ltr (theorytical sperading rate)
VS = 45%
65 (DFT) Volume = 65 um x 300m2
= 0.0065cm x 3000000cm2
300(m2) ÷ 6.92m2/ltr(tsr) = 43.35ltr = 19500cm3
= 19.5 Liters of paint required
2 What is the Wet Films Thickness reading if, the Dry Films Thickness is 250µm and the Volume Solid
of paint is 78%?
DFT = WFT x VS%
WFT = DFT / VS%
W.F.T = 320.51 Xum
100 250
78 WFT = 250um / 78%
= 320µm = 320.51 um

3 What is the Dry Films Thickness reading, if the Wet Films Thickness is 250µm and the Volume Solid
of paint is 50%?

D.F.T = 250 125 um

X 50 DFT = WFT x VS%
100 DFT = 250um x 50%
= 125um
= 125µm

4 What is the Volume Solid of paint if the WFT is 300µm and the DFT is 125µm?

Volume Solids = 41.6 % VolumexSolid 100

125
300

DFT = WFT= x VS% 41.66%

VS% = DFT / WFT
= 125um / 300um
= 0.416
Untuk tukar ke % , kena darab 100%

So 0.416 x 100% = 41.6% Volume Solid

Perlu ingat satu formula sahaja,

DFT = WFT x VS %

Kalo boleh ingat ni, just manipulate tu formula untuk cari WFT & Volume Solid
