Metal seats are recommended for valves in locations where sand content is high, such as upstream and downstream of production chokes, production and test headers, inlet separators, sand treatment lines, and drain valves to closed drain vessels. A malfunctioning sand treatment could lead to high sand levels returning to the inlet separator. Metal seats should be considered for vent lines and pressure safety valves due to the risk of small amounts of sand carrying over through high velocity flow.

1. Metal seat is applied where the fluid is high sand contents:
a) Upstream of Production Choke b) Downstream of Production Choke c) Production Header d) Test Header e) Incoming line of Inlet Separator f) Incoming line of Test Separator g) 1st drain valve to Closed Drain Vessel and header/flowline h) Solid treatment and where line used 6Mo material 2. Assumed the malfunction of Sand Treatment lead to high sand back to inlet separator from outlet of Sand Treatment 3. The vent and PSV pop-up is high velocity, assumed a small sand can carryover through vent line on Production and Test Header --> Upstream of PSV/Blowdown/Manual Vent consider Metal seat, but we not consider existing sand after orifice due to blockage of Orifice is big issue than type of seat. With separator, due to high inventory volume, so we assumed sand is no prefer withdraw through gas outlet and vent line. 4. Inlet Separator and Inlet separator, assume that sand is no expect after sand weir --> crude oil is no metal seat but we still consider the water line is existing little sand in water after weir of Test separator.
