Design Process

Industrial design is a strategic problem -solving process that drives innovation, builds
business success and leads to a better quality of life through innovative products, systems,
services and experiences. The design process is part of the development process. Designers
need to work closely with research, development and production areas, coordinate and
refine vehicle or product dimensions, material concepts and production processes, also
ensure in -process productivity.Industrial Design bridges the gap between what may
happen. To produce a good end product and meet the needs of users, there are several
design processes in industrial design to make product design including identifying problems,
researching in depth, Think of possible solutions, Evaluate and select promising solutions,
Create prototypes, treat and solve problems, make improvements and produce designs and
final products. This step is the process of guiding designers every time they start designing.

The first step of the car design process is to identify the problem from the customer or
user. Identify the gap between the current state and the desired process or design state. In
the context of design, you can think of a user problem as an unmet need. To identify
problems, we need to listen to problems and input from users or customers about the
existing or new car design and sometimes the design is not suitable and difficult to use with
what the user wants because there will be some customers or users who have different
abilities than the other. for example from the elderly and the disabled. In addition, problems
with the design can also occur due to surrounding conditions or the product or design itself.

The next step in the design process is brainstorming, which is important for all types of
designs, not only automotive designs. One of the activities for problem-solving or for
improving one's capacity for thought is brainstorming. Additionally, brainstorm combines
open thinking with a carefree and casual attitude to issue resolution. This brainstorm invites
individuals to think outside the box and generate original ideas. Some of these concepts
may be intended to be novel and inventive answers to issues, while others may serve as
catalysts for other concepts.

The next step in the design process for an automobile is research, which entails
gathering data, taking measurements, and analysing that data. The design of the research
will be determined by the type of research challenge that a corporation is facing, not the
other way around. The instruments that will be used and how they will be used are decided
during the planning phase of this investigation. With the help of this thorough research, we
designers are better able to understand the issues that customers have with vehicle design
and can explore scenarios that have never been addressed before. In addition to examining
user issues, the study looked at the design of the product and how it is used to determine
whether it is appropriate for use.

The next process is step-by-step development where the group of ideas is refined by
identifying the specific elements of the idea that produce the greatest impact or public
interest. required for construction. Project components are viewed to the smallest detail.
These include: Interior and exterior building materials and finishes. It combines analytical,
synthetic, divergent and convergent thinking to create a large number of potential solutions
and then narrows them down to the most suitable solution, to produce a design or product
design that fits what is requested by the customer. The solution thinking should be similar
to the problem that has been discussed about the design together with the user or
customer.

The next process is to select the best idea for automotive design. The best idea
determines the extent to which the solution meets the business needs expressed by
stakeholders, including delivering value to customers and consumers. suitable for all groups.
With this evaluation process to some extent one can find out whether this design can solve
the problems faced by users or customers and how to use it is suitable for all groups.

The next design process to produce a product design is prototyping or 3D. A prototype
is a representation of a product idea, designed either in the form of a simple model that you
assemble yourself, a 3D printout or a very refined version produced by a prototype firm. A
prototype is a product design built for the purpose of testing ideas and design changes so
that it can produce a good and safe end product. Designers can see every feature and
interaction in a prototype as in a fully developed designer product design, checking whether
the idea the designer works and validates the overall strategy regarding user and customer
experience.

The next design process is testing and evaluating a car design is a process in which a
system or component is compared to requirements and specifications through testing. The
results are evaluated to assess design progress, performance, supportability.Testing and
evaluation are very important. It provides a framework of knowledge and capabilities,
selected to suit a particular level. Tests assess not only progress and achievement but also
the effectiveness of the teaching materials and methods used.

The next design process is to make improvements and produce a design. Design
improvements need to be done before producing the final product, to support some design
system requirements including to ensure good product quality, to improve the performance
and installation efficiency of product design, to improve manufacturing process and to
reduce product cost.

After performing the design improvement process. The final process is to communicate
the final result of the design. The purpose is to show the design made is worthy to be
presented and sold to the customer. At this stage, decisions about time, number, cost,
technique, usage decision etc. will finally be made. After that the final product design is
ready to be displayed and sold to all consumers and customers.
