Improving Communication Cycle

Improving Communication Cycle

2

Notably, communication is a human inherent social interaction, and it's the sharing of

information, whether orally or in writing. Therefore, people pass the information using various

mechanisms such as emails, TVs, blogs, speaking, telephone, art, body language, facial

expression, etc. According to Rao (2018), communication is the medium of language

disseminated via its informal and formal making such as verbal, writing, signs, symbols, etc. In

his work, Rao widely discusses the scholarly communication cycle, posing that the schorly

communication cycle is different from the informal communication cycle. Thus, cummunication

involves creation, evaluation, accumulation, publication, preservation, and dissemination (Rao,

2018). Therefore, that means of communicating intellectual materials such as scholarly works is

attained by creating, evaluating, accumulating, publicizing, disseminating, and preserving

information. According to Velentzas and Broni (2014), Claude Shannon and Warren Weaver

introduced the first major communication model.

Thus, the initial model was meant to mirror the functioning telephone and radio

technologies. The model posits three major parts of the communication model'; receiver, sender,

and channel of communication (Velentzas & Broni,2014). Equally, they also referred that just

like phone communication is affected by static, communication is also affected by the external

environment, especially noise. Thus, normal communication entails information such as a

message sent from sender to receiver or decoder. Importantly, the five functions entail a full

communication process or model, i.e., source of information, channel, transmitter, destination,

and receiver. (Velentzas & Broni ,2014). Kapur (2020) posits that to improve communication,

parties need to communicate to argue their knowledge following all stages of communication.

Thus, both parties should aim to receive information and share ideas with a lot of efficiencies.

Equally, the main way to improve communication is to pay attention to various environments

and settings associated with the communication. Kapur (2020) also posits various factors to

identify during the communication process for efficiency, including context, common code,

contact, participants, message, and goals (Kapur 2020). Thus, improving communication

depends on paying attention to all parties involved by listening, avoiding noise, understanding,

and offering feedback accordingly.

Notably, Kapur (2018) posits that improving communication cycles requires overcoming

communication barriers. He adds that there are psychological and content barriers that one needs

to overcome to improve the communication process (Kapur,2018). Thus, some of these barriers

are environmental and physical barriers that limit the communication process in terms of speed

or effectiveness; such barriers are space, time, medium, and place (Kapur,2018). Also, semantic

barriers to communication, thus requiring proper use of words (Kapur,2018). Thus the author

suggests that improving the communication cycle needs participants to overcome the existing

communication barriers. Undoubtedly, the study relates to the literature as it explores ways to

improve the communication cycle. Thus, the literature explores the communication cycle,

process, and communication in its entirety. Thus, the relationship between the study and the

existing literature is evident as both try to answer questions about the communication cycle and

communication process. Thus the relationship between the existing literature and the study

seems to intertwine while searching for a common goal. However, they may vary in approach

and perspective; both attempt to find answers related to the study, making the existing literature

vital for the study. Importantly, the literature offers a wide scope of information and ideas about

the communication process, models, and cycle, which is vital for a deep understanding of the

research question. Thus, developing an influence study solely depends on information from

existing literature; thus, it's vital for the study.
