College life is said to be the most
challenging and exciting phase of your life.
It is an entirely new adventure that
everyone looks forward to with mixed
emotions. “Adventure” is a word that
means something different to almost
everyone. To some people it means
excitement –other people look at
adventure from a negative point of view.
They can see danger in adventure and
may experience some fears and may tend
to avoid it. These certainly are dangers in
our adventures but many people blow
them out of all proportion and freeze
themselves with fear.
It is of great advantage that before you do
or engage into something, you must first
get to know what it is all about or get a
bird’s eye view. Sine your are in your
freshman year, everything is new to you,
just like this subject.
Obviously, college life is a world far
different from high school. Our aim is to
help you to adjust to a new kind of life.
We will help you manage your curricular
and co-curricular activities, conduct
yourself appropriately in different
situations, enhance your self-
understanding and self-acceptance, and
help you become responsible in
developing yourself as a total person.
You belong to this community.

organization. This is your second home.
You will stay with your classmates for the
whole semester, whole school year or
even for the rest of your stay in college.
As a member of this community, it is
important that you come to know the
members of your homeroom. You are
therefore, to know the persons you will
interact with as you experience varied
situations/challenges in your attempt to
think, learn, to do and to live together in
peace and harmony with yourself and the
whole environment.
You will share yourself with others as to:
 Your name;
 The meaning of your name;
 The origin of your name;
 The school you came from;
 The most outstanding
characteristic trait which you want
them to know about your;
 Your reason for coming to this
institution; and
 Your feelings to be in this class.
Likewise, you will be requested to focus
your attention, listen wholeheartedly and
openly to each of your classmates’
disclosure or sharings. In this manner,
you make your classmates feel important
and at ease with you.

To be fully human:
 Each one has the freedom to
choose what is right from what is
wrong;
 Each one has the capacity to think
not merely memorize, but to
understand, to analyze, to infer, to
criticize, to apply, to create, to
evaluate so as to enhance his
thinking skills for his total
development and for others;

show concern, to assist, to help, to
give compassion, to serve those
who are need;

persons, where he/she learns to

studying theology, discussing the
gospel, attending prayer meetings,
recollections, being active in the
church organizations, programs,
projects and activities as concrete
manifestations of one’s service to

channels of graces via the church

repair, forgiveness and
celebrations;
 Each should aspire to grow age,
wisdom and grace.
