We must follow the law for our fellow Filipinos to benefit and be directed toward a particular

goal. An essential competency for nurses to possess is knowledge of the legislative requirements
in the Philippines for nutrition and diet therapy in connection to the nursing profession. These
legal prerequisites for food and nutrition therapy in the Philippines will act as a manual and
enable practitioners satisfy the dietary and nutritional needs of patients, whether they are ill or in
good health, to help them achieve their overall optimal health and well-being.

In my opinion, the Philippine government was able to maintain and improve the legal standards
for diet and nutrition therapy. Malnutrition. more specifically under nutrition. has always been a
problem in the Philippines. In fact, recent efforts to combat all forms of malnutrition appear to
have stalled.

With regard to nutrition, the Philippines has achieved some improvements. As an illustration,
efforts to remedy undernutrition have made little headway, and overnutrition has become a major
issue. The Philippines Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017–2022 (PPAN) identifies the activities
required to improve the country's present nutritional position and overcomes the deficiencies of
earlier plans. It is encouraging that they are making attempts to solve the nation's nutrition issues
in order to fulfill the PPAN and SDG targets for 2030, as the situation is predicted to improve in
2018. This would help Filipinos prevent any harm to their nutrition.
