Research on culture of India

India is well known for its rich and vibrant culture. Indian culture represents
numerous cultures of different religions and communities present in India. “Unity in
diversity” is a term that best represents Indian culture. Languages, religions, food,
dance, music, rituals everything differs from region to region in the country.

Religion - This diversity is also visible in the spheres of religion. The major
religions of India are Hinduism (majority religion), Islam (largest minority religion),
Sikhism, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, Zoroastrianism, Judaism and the Bahá'í
Faith.

Food- Indian food is different from the rest of the world not only in taste but
also in cooking methods. It reflects a perfect blend of various cultures and ages.
Just like Indian culture, food in India has also been influenced by various
civilizations, which have contributed their share in its overall development and the
present form.

Languages - Being the world's second most populous nation (after China),
India has an extensive range of languages. The constitution recognizes 15 regional
languages but Hindi and English are recognized as the official languages. There
are well over 1,000 dialects spoken in India.

Behavior - Indian culture is very rich and it has a unique position in the world.
We have a tradition of respecting elders, being truthful and helping each other.
Good manners, civilized communication, rituals, values etc. are the vital
components of Indian culture. Even after modernization, we Indians have preserved
our traditions and values.
