started by a group of grandmothers who are anxious to keep traditional food and cooking
techniques alive. They are against the modern-day use of freezers and microwaves. None of these
grandmothers has had any experience as professional cooks, and they run their school without

especially keen to teach the younger generation how to cook traditional dishes, and to convince
them that traditional food is better than convenience foods and take-away. The grandmothers run
cookery courses two or three times a week, and the fee is about 20 euros which includes tuition and
lunch. Most of the recipes are traditional, and some of them have ancient legends attached to them.
