To Whom it May Concern

I am writing this reference letter for Mr. Ansar Javed, who has completed his Master of Science (MS)
Mathematics from COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Islamabad Pakistan. Ansar is known to me from
last 3 years, when he was my student in the graduate course “Direct and Inverse Problems for Wave
Propagation” during his MS course work at CUI. He proved himself to be a good student (among top 10%),
eager to accept challenges during the said course.

Mr. Ansar is always eager to learn new techniques and tried his best to overcome the challenges. He is an
individualist and doesn’t share and looks for others to help him. He has developed strong mathematical
skills in Fractional Calculus and Special functions during his research work and successfully defended his
MS thesis titled “Determination of Sub-Diffusion Processes and Source Terms from Non-Local Data”. I
consider him a potential candidate for pursuing his career as Applied Mathematician.

The medium of instruction at COMSATS is English. He is fluent in speaking English and has good
communication skills. I am sure that he will continue to do his best as Mathematician and put more efforts to
achieve his objectives in life. I wish Mr. Ansar success and peace in professional life.
