Letter 1

Dear Peter,

How’s it going? I hope you and your family are doing great. I am very glad when I received
your letter. I’m writing this letter to tell you about my free time activities.

For me, I would prefer to spend my time going out rather than stay at home, I’m an outgoing
person as well. Most of my spare time, I participate in sports, I am a big fan of badminton so I
often set aside about 2-3 hours practising it. I find playing badminton provides an escape from
hard study along with busy work, it is so therapeutic. However, when the weather is not as my
expectation, I do like watching my favourite films. They were so fascinating that I can sit in
front of the box hourly to observe them. This time, I have got into the film “Lovely Us”, I
would highly recommend you this one, it is so interesting!

That’s all for now. I hope to see you soon.

Yours,

Ann

Letter 2

Dear Sally,

How are things? Hope this email finds you well. I’m writing you this email to tell you about a
little rearrangement about our meeting next Tuesday.

Sorry in advance for this unexpected change due to my school schedule. According to the new
annoucement I’ve just receveid this morning from my teacher, I have to be at school next
Tuesday morning for some extracurricular activities of my class. However, don’t worry because
the event will finish at about 11 o’clock so we can meet in the afternoon. Do you have any plan
at 3.30’? I think that time will be suitable for us. I want to go to the bakery near your house, so I
can pick you up by the way. There will be no change about the place and don’t forget to text me
what time suit you.

Hope to see you soon.

Love,

Susan.

Letter 3

Dear Alex,
How’s it going? I hope you and your family are doing great. I’m writing to you to tell you about
my opinion between the school in the countryside and the school in the centre of town.

You’re probably in two minds about choosing your school, I can understand because I was in
the same situation as you before. If I were you, I would choose the large school in the centre of
town. The reason behind this choice is the schools in the cities are often more well-equipped
than those in the countryside. Therefore, your study as well as your study environment will be
improved and better as well. However, it is just my own perspective so you still need to
consider whether the school suits you or not. I suggest that you should visit the school before
you decided to study there.

That’s all for now. Hope my advice will be helpful.

Cheers,

Ann

Letter 5

Dear Alex,

How are things? I hope you are doing great. Thank you for your nice suggestion but I sincerely
apologize for having to turn down your invitation.

Unfortunately, my significant university project is going to be taken place tomorrow and it

coincides with your plan. I am quite sure that I’m going to be busy the whole day because it is
necessary to prepare carefully for this important event. However, would you like to hang out
with me this weekend? To make up for my miss this time, why don’t we go to the new cinema
just have been opened in our town recently? I know a lot of attractive films and I assure that we
will have a wonderful time. Don’t forget to text me what time suits you, I will come and pick
you up.

That’s all for now. I’m dying to see you this weekend.

Love,

Susan.
