How to request TADS updates by cursor in Navi-Planner 4000

1. Start Navi-Planner from the Transas Integrator.

Before updates are going to be requested it is needed to have the latest catalogue
NOTE: loaded in Navi-Planner. For this please follow the steps given in the How to order
TADS or TX-97 catalogue in Navi-Planner Instruction.

2. Click on “Charts” in the left menu, then in the sub-menu click “Chart
Catalogue”:

3. From the “Current catalogue” load the TADS catalog:


4. Having loaded the catalog Navi-Planner will show all the charts boundaries on
the chart panel:

5. From the “Chart Selection” group click the “Select”:

6. From the “Select” sub-menu choose “by cursor”:


7. “Select area” cursor will appear. Left click in the map, and then by moving the
trackball you will make the area larger/smaller:

8. Once you are happy with the area then click the left button again and the charts
will be marked red (those boundaries are highlighted by red lines):
9. Navi-Planner will show the selected charts in red and in the bottom right-hand
part of the display there is a basket of all the selected charts:

10. From the “Request for Data” click “Updates”:


11. In the appeared “Request” window click “Next >>”:

12. The wizard window will show request optimization results. Read it through and
click“Next”:

13. Choose the way you would like to send the request:
Save to Disk
1. Choose the “Save to Disk” option and enter the e-mail address to which you
want to receive the answer from the server. Click “Finish”:

2. On your USB stick it is necessary to create two folders: NPL_inbox and


NPL_outbox.
3. From the “Select folder…” window browse your USB stick, the “NPL_outbox”
folder. Click “OK”. The request will be saved in here:
4. The confirmation window will appear. For sending the request it is needed to
follow the given instructions. Click “Ok”:

5. In a short while our server will come back to to you with the updates. When the
reply is received save all attachments to your USB stick, in to the NPL_inbox
folder.
6. Go to “Charts”, and the “Install” tab:
7. Inside the Scan group click “Browse” and browse NPL_inbox folder from your
USB stick. Click “Go”:

8. Click “Install selected items”:


9. When done click “Close”:

10. In a couple of minutes the “Source scan completed” window will appear. Click
“Install selected items”:

11. The system will show you the report of the performed operations. Read it and
click “Close”:
12. The updates have been successfully installed.

Send the request

1. Choose the “Send request” and click on “Finish”:

2. In a short while our server will come back to you with the latest updates.
3. Upon receipt, Navi-Planner will automatically display the “Source scan
completed” window.
4. Click “Install selected items”:
5. The system will show you the report of the completed operations.
Click on “Close”.

6. The updates have been successfully installed.
