Me and my Aspirations.

I want to be a software developer. A software developer is someone

who has a role in the design, installation, testing and maintenance

of software systems. The programs they create will help the

business to be more efficient and provide a better service. I was

inspired to choose this field because of decent pay and a large

selection of employers to choose from, like Microsoft, AMD, NVIDIA

and other companies. I’ve always spent most of my free time

around a computer and I don't really have a passion that I can

pursue, so I’ve decided that this job would accommodate me the

best.

Software developers have an average salary ranging from $45,613

to $85,401. Some developers have a salary of more than $100,000

depending on experience. Most people who do software developing

move on to other positions after 20 years in this field. Additional

compensation includes bonuses and profit sharing. Bonuses usually

range from from $486 to $9,154. Profit sharing is $489 to $5,899.

The amount of additional compensation you receive isn’t very

significant, but it’s not so bad either.

To become a software developer, the courses I will take in high

school are Algebra II, Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, and Computer

Science. After I graduate, I will go to college and take Computer

Science or Software engineering courses for four years to get a

Bachelor’s degree, although I’m not sure of which college to go to.

Also, I plan on doing internships at different enterprises so it’ll be

easier to get a job if I choose to apply there.

The skills required to become a software developer are an excellent

working knowledge of hardware, software, and programming

languages. I also will need the ability to develop and interpret

technical plans and have a good understanding of a a Computer

Aided Software Engineering. (CASE) tools. I’ll also most likely be

working with a team, so I will need to have good teamwork skills.

In conclusion, I just chose this job because it pays and it’s pretty

easy and there are a lot of employers.
