PLACES OF ART
BASILICA OF CORPUS DOMINI
In the beautiful and ancient territory of Turin in Piedmont, there are many places to visit,
such as the Basilica of Corpus Domini, one of the oldest basilicas
of the Italian territory.

The monument is a Baroque style Catholic church

built to celebrate, THE EUCHARISTIC MIRACLE which took place on June 6, 1453,
during the war between the
DUCATO of Savoy and the Dauphiné (ancient French province), completed
by two very famous architects,
Matteo Sanmichelli born in 1480
Ascanio di Vittozzi born in 1539
In addition to the beautiful basilica, another ancient monument is the world-class
Egyptian museum, entirely dedicated to Egyptian arts.
It was wanted in 2004 by the minister of cultural heritage who entrusted this structure
with the most precious of the finds of the Egyptian remains.
Today the museum has more than 853,320 visitors a year, which is why it is one of the
most prestigious museums in the world.
In the Egyptian museum there are several collections such as:
Maya's grave
● The sarcophagus of Nefertiti
● The papyrus of the gold mines
● MOLE ANTONELLIANA
The Mole Antonelliana, symbol of the city of Turin and one of the most
prestigious monuments of Italy. The name derives from the imposing height, 167.5
meters, while its adjective derives from the architect who conceived it, Alessandro
Antonelli.
TRADITIONAL FOOD
There are many traditional Piedmontese and Turinese foods that we can compare with
those of the south, such as those from Puglia.
Usually Turin food is richer in spices while that of
south is easier.
The best foods you can taste in Turin are:
● Veal with tuna sauce
● Caponet
● Tomini
● agnolotti
● Braised in Barolo
Finally, as a dessert you can delight yourself with the tasty Gianduiotto, the best
chocolate is simple but also the most expensive.
