Introduction to Fine Arts (9th-12th grade) in an urban English Language Learning community.
 Collaborated in developing and implementing curriculum and assessments for high school
Introduction to Fine Arts, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade art featuring synchronous and
asynchronous technology infused resources in a variety of both digital and physical
mediums.
 Employed differentiated instruction to address the needs of new English language
learners while achieving academy standards of high rigor and college readiness.
 Coordinated and collaborated on a variety of student lead art showcases, virtual galleries,
STEAM week events, City of Water Day, and SEL workshops to highlight the importance
of the arts across and within disciplines.
 Managed the inventory, organization, efficacy and cost of supplies for all art classes
within the academy and ordered according to budget, student population, and class
section expectations each year
            Fall 2018
 Taught 4 sections of Art Fundamentals (9th-12th grade) and 1 section of Drawing & Painting
(10th-12th grade) in an urban setting.
 Developed still life unit focusing on the transformation of a 3D crane into a variety of 2D
representations through an exploration of technique (origami, blind contour, contour line
drawing, blending with an object) and media (graphite, colored pencil, chalk pastel, oil pastel).
 Developed blind contour self-portrait unit exploring 16 watercolor techniques while challenging
students to analyze the ways reality is interpreted in abstract and realistic art.
 Employed differentiated instruction to address the needs of new English language learners,
inclusion students with severe behavioral disturbances, and a large population of students
with IEP accommodations as well as struggling readers and writers.

 Taught 6 sections of 6th grade art 5 sections of 5th grade art (including 2 inclusion classes), 5
sections of 4th grade art (including 2 inclusion classes), and 5 sections of 3rd grade art
(including 2 inclusion classes) in an urban setting.
 Implemented a research-based EdTPA unit on the big ideas of inspiration and systems based
on the paintings “Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh and “People at Night” by Joan Miro.
 Integrated evidence-based Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS) and Olweus
Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) into the classroom through practices such as modeling
and consistent positive 1:1 behavioral feedback for students.

 Designed community and school art installations that promoted creative collaboration and
encouraged student leadership and ownership in the celebration of their works in the
community.
 Initiated an afterschool art club for middle school and high school students to provide additional opportunities to
further their creative art skills, explore new mediums, and design and install a variety of installations across the
school.
