How do people start and finish the day?

A lot of people organize their day by time. Seven o’clock
is time to get up, noon is lunchtime, ten thirty is bedtime.
However, we all have our own times and habits, especially
in the morning and evening. Here, some people tell us
how they start and finish their day.

1 Joe

I am always thirsty when I wake up, so the first thing I do is

make a drink. I like a cup of tea, but my wife prefers warm
water with lemon. I have to eat breakfast before I go to
work, otherwise I’m hungry all day. I usually eat toast and
eggs and I encourage my son to eat breakfast too. In the
evening, I always take a shower because I like to be clean
before I go to bed.

2 Marie

I don’t like to wake up early. When I first wake up, I like to lie in bed and prepare for the
day. I’m an English teacher and I’m quite creative, I think. This may sound a little unusual,
but I often choose three objects in my room and think of a story about them before I get
up. Before I go to bed I like to write about my day or my feelings. I usually write down three
fun things from the day and three things that I want to do the next day.

3 Charlie and George

George and I are brothers and we share a house, but we

don't have the same routine. I get up at 4:30 am because
I start work at 5:30 am. The first thing I do is take shower
to wake me up. George starts school at nine o’clock. He
usually wakes up at 8:30 am and runs to class – he doesn’t
take a shower first and his breakfast is a chocolate bar! I’m
often tired in the evening, so I relax with a hot chocolate
and go to bed early. George is a night owl and stays up
late to do his homework and chat with friends.
