L1.5.

Reporting format
To complete the reporting format for Level 1, you should answer yes or no for each of the design concepts that you
have addressed and then provide brief descriptions of the measures or decisions taken for each one.

Addressed? How has it been incorporated into the building design concept?
Energy design concept
(yes/no) (provide a brief description)

The NZEB Spanish national regulation applies for the building. This
1. Minimum energy performance regulation specifies minimum thermal insulation values for the
requirements and Near Zero- yes envelope. Likewise, minimum solar gains protection values for
Energy Building (NZEB) design windows are proposed in the national regulation.

To go one step further, the design teams propose to improve the

insulation and solar protection values of the envelope by at least
10% compared to the minimum values required by the national
NZEB building regulation in Spain.

As well, the design team agrees to propose a design that aims to

improve 10% the primary energy of the building compared to the
minimum NZEB threshold defined by the NZEB regulation in Spain.
Improving the building primary energy 10%, will allow alignment
with one of the carbon mitigation requirements as presented in the
EU Taxonomy for new buildings.

The design team agrees to allow space in the roof for renewable
energy panels and in the outside carpark (canopies).
The local Madrid weather data is studied by the design team. The
design team obtained local climatic data from this source
https://energyplus.net/weather) .
The Madrid monthly average temperatures show high values in
summertime and low values in winter.
2. Site specific design yes
This site weather conditions can offer high cooling loads in summer
and relatively high heating loads in winter. The annual period for
mild intermediate outside temperature conditions that avoid
heating or cooling loads from the impact of outside temperature is
short time in Madrid.
3. Renovation specific design yes The building is new so that this item is not applicable.
Design team will include the following scope in the next stages of
the project design:
• Air tightness test (sometimes this is already a requirement by the
4. High quality building fabric and
yes local regulation)
services
• The evaluation of the annual efficiency of the heating and cooling
systems (SEER & SCOP) by the contractor two years after
completion with the building at least 80% occupied
The building will include energy management systems that register
5. Smart monitoring and control and analyze energy meter information. The design team will specify
yes
systems the necessary energy meters in the building in next stages of the
project.
