RE: APPLICATION FOR THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS

I am writing to express my interest as a volunteer programs assistant at Concern Worldwide. As

one of the beneficiaries of Humanitarian advocacy programs in Kibera slums, I would like to
give back to by providing humanitarian services and giving back to the community at large by
putting my extensive skills and experience in mental health management and social services .

My attachment and Internship at Joseph Kang’ethe Rehabilitation Center, Ongata Rongai

Organisation for the Needy, and the Uweza Foundation gave me a chance to develop new
therapeutic skills and modalities to expand on my attributes vital to the therapeutic process to
help my clients embrace positivity and self-acceptance. The practicum enabled me to interact
with and assist at-risk youth through individual, family, and group counseling on issues ranging
from depression and anger management to difficulties with substance abuse. I developed skills
for being supportive and empathic, also having volunteered for a mentorship and tutoring agency
like Oasis Africa Australia has instilled in me the desire to give back to the community.

I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Moi University, I believe that
my communication skills, combined with my interpersonal and organizational skills, will assist
me in building a professional network with clients and colleagues within and outside the
organization. I look forward to discussing the position with you in further detail.
