Candidate A: A festival that I celebrate is Chinese New Year.

Chinese New Year is

celebrated either in January or February. The Chinese celebrate this festival to
welcome the New Year. I have always enjoyed this celebration because there is
always a lot noise and fanfare throughout the 15 days. To add to the festive mood, we
have the lion dance, or sometimes even the dragon dance too. The fireworks brighten
the night sky with colours that conjure up a spectacular display. And not forgetting
the different variety of traditional foods, which are only available during Chinese
New Year, such as Kuih Ka Pek and Kuih Bangkit. And on the eve of Chinese New
Year, we always have a reunion dinner where all the family members will return
home for the special meal. I would say the importance of this celebration is that it
strengthens the bond among family members.

Candidate B: I celebrate Han Raya. I have always looked forward to celebrating this
festival because I have the opportunity to go back to my hometown in Kuala Lipis. It
is probably the only time I get to see all my aunts, uncles and cousins at the same
time. I really enjoy it because I get to catch up with them.

Candidate B: I would say that my mother is my idol. She is truly my heroine, but I
must say she is not the kind of super heroine you see in movies like Catwoman or
Superwoman. She is a very down-to-earth person. She is petite, but don't let her size
deceive you. My mother is my idol because she takes care of us well especially during
this Covid-19 pandemic. She makes sure all of us are safe and healthy and most
importantly, that we are happy too. I think people should have an idol whom they can
emulate because an idol sets an example in life for people to follow.
Candidate A: For me, my role model is my mum too. This is because she is always
there for me when I need her. She never lets me down. She supports me in whatever I
do and encourages me to try harder if I fail.

Candidate A: A sports event that I have attended was the Malaysian League Cup in
2018 that was held in Stadium Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur. It was my first time
attending a final football match between Kedah and Perak. I enjoyed the match as the
atmosphere was electrifying and tense. Supporters of both sides were cheering and
waving flags throughout the match. I cheered and clapped loudly when the captain
of the Perak team scored a goal. I enjoyed myself thoroughly as this was my first
experience watching a final match. I think doing sports is important because doing
sports can keep one physically and mentally healthy.

Candidate B: As for me, I attended the Malaysian open final between Dato Lee Chong
Wei and his rival Chen Hong at Stadium Bukit Jalil two years ago.
However, I did not enjoy the match at all as I am not a big sports fan.

Candidate B: I think the most important item that I own is my guitar. This is because I
have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar. I received this gift from my
parents on my tenth birthday and I have owned it for allHOSt seven years. When I
strum the guitar, it brings me to another world. I can forget my problems and it
helps me to relax because I enjoy the sound it plays. Nothing can replace my
guitar because it is a gift from my parents and I like it as it is. I can't imagine
how I would feel if I ever lose it.

Candidate A: I would say an important item that I own is my watch. This is because
it was a gift from my late grandmother. This item is very important to me
because it brings back my memories of my grandmother. I think I will
always keep it with me even when it does not work any more.

Candidate A: I think my favourite gadget is my laptop, and I can't imagine my life
without it. I received it as a birthday present from my parents about two
years ago. I use it nearly every day now. I was not used to using the laptop
at first but after a few weeks, I was able to work on it well. It is important to
me because I use it for browsing websites and contacting my friends. I also
use it to work on my homework and school projects. I would say that my
laptop has become an essential device for me.
Candidate B: My favourite gadget is my smartphone. It is very useful for me as it
is like a one-stop shop where you can get everything under one roof. I use it
at every opportunity I can. This is because I can make calls, surf the
Internet, download applications, take pictures and text my family and
friends.

Candidate B : I would like to talk about a little stall, which is just a short distance
away from where I live. The stall does not have a name, but I would call it
Grandpa Cheng's. This stall serves various kinds of street food from curry fish
balls to hot and spicy torn yarn noodles. I particularly love the curry fish balls,
which you don't often find in any other stalls. They are irresistible and the tom
yam noodles are simply delicious with flavourful ingredients. That is why I
often go to this stall with my family and friends.
Candidate A: I enjoy eating at a restaurant downtown. It is a nice little Italian
restaurant that serves authentic Italian food. I like to patronise this restaurant
because they serve delicious pasta, pizza and gelato.

Candidate A: I enjoy listening to music by BTS, the Korean boyband. I learned about
this group when I was listening to FM988 where their song Fake Love
was being played. After listening to a few more songs from YouTube,
I fell in love with this K-pop group. Their songs are catchy. I like this
group mainly because the rhythm in their music makes you want to tap
your feet. I enjoy listening to their songs when I am stressed out and
they always cheer me up! I also listen to their songs when I am
working on my assignments or school projects.
Candidate B: Just like Candidate A, I also enjoy K-pop, but my favourite group is
Blackpink, which is an all-female group. I like their chart-topping
song Twice, which is avery catchy song. I like Blackpink because
their songs help me to relax my mind when I am feeling stressed.

Candidate B: I like to go to the night market located in Taman Kiang Jaya. The
vendors sell a variety of things ranging from clothes to food. You can actually get
most of the things you want; even hardware. This night market is not as big as other
markets. Nonetheless, it is very popular among the residents in Taman Klang Jaya. I
enjoy going to the night market because the things sold there are affordable since the
price is much lower than in shop lots or even in hypermarkets. I also like how the
diverse communities mingle in a night market.

Candidate A: I don't really enjoy going to a night market because there are too many
people in such a confined area. No doubt things are much more affordable at a night
market than many other places. However, I still prefer to shop at other places.

Candidate A: I am going to talk about a happy childhood event, which

I can still remember vividly. It was my first birthday celebration ever, and that was
the only birthday that I celebrated to date. It was my tenth birthday; that's seven years
ago. It was a surprise birthday party in Sunway Lagoon. My whole family, including
my grandparents, came. I remember this particular event because I had always wanted
to go to Sunway Lagoon to try all the rides. I did so on that day. I had great fun and I
enjoyed every minute of it. Besides, all my family members were able to spend time
together as well.

Candidate B: A childhood event that I remember is taking part in a fancy dress contest
when I was nine years old. I was dressed as a mermaid with all the glitters sewn on
the costume. My mum took seven days to make the costume for me. It was indeed a
happy memory for me because I took home the first prize.

Candidate B: The most influential person in my lite is my father. I have lived with my
father since I was born, so I have known him for 17 years. I would say that one of his
best qualities is he is determined, and he has achieved a lot in his life. It took him
many years to get to where he is now. Apart from that. he is also humble and never
brags about his success. He also helps those who are less fortunate. He sometimes
helps out in an orphanage at weekends. I have got involved in charity work because of
his work. I have helped out at an animal shelter at weekends because of his influence.

Candidate A: I would say the most influential person for me is to mother. This is
because she is a single parent. I can see how hard she has worked and how much she
ha, sacrificed for me. She has taught me that time and effon could bring positive
results in life.
