ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I give thanks and praise to Allah, the Creator of the worlds, and send peace upon His
Messenger in the name of Allah, the Most Generous and Most Merciful. I want to start by
acknowledging and thanking Allah for giving me the perseverance and resolve to successfully
complete the internship report. I am incredibly appreciative of the help I have received from numerous
sources, as this report is a necessary condition for acquiring a certified Diploma with amazing
outcomes.

I want to start by thanking and praising Cik Muhamad Amirul Mukmin bin Yusmiza, who is in
charge of my industrial training. His generosity and commitment to assisting newbies, like me, have
been immeasurable. Without his constant encouragement, wisdom, and direction, I would not have
advanced significantly or comprehended the goal of my internship. I sincerely appreciate his help,
advice, and the insightful insights he taught me. I also want to express my gratitude to the reputable
professors who have supported me and my fellow interns during the entire internship programme.
Their expertise, classroom suggestions, and timely updates have provided me with the necessary
information to grasp the concepts and objectives of this mandatory report. Their commitment and
patience have been instrumental in enabling me to efficiently complete each chapter.

I also want to thank my dear family and my fellow interns for their support. I am incredibly
grateful for their consistent encouragement and support when I was feeling down. Their guidance has
made it simple for me to regain my focus and confidence. I also like to thank the senior professionals
whose articles and books helped me with my research and writing for this report.

I owe a debt of gratitude to many authors whose works have helped me greatly, but I am
unable to name them all specifically. Last but not least, I value the opportunity to have spent 15 weeks
working for this prestigious company. I want to thank Jeffrey Cottam and Amirul Mukmin for
allowing me to join the team. The staff's interest and consideration for me is exceptional and will
never be forgotten. Being a part of this esteemed company has been a wonderful experience, and I
hope that my diligence and preparation will serve as a bright example for the future application of the
Sport Management course.

lot of effort into promoting golf and helping golf facilities increase their revenue. At the moment,
Footgolf Malaysia runs three footgolf courses in Malaysia: one each at Kelab Sungai Petani in Kedah,
Pulai Springs Resort Johor, and Bukit Jelutong Golf Centre. They work to promote the spread of
footgolf across the country by encouraging participation at all levels—social, amateur, and
competitive.

In Malaysia, footgolf has attracted a sizable following of people eager to try out this novel
sport. It's becoming more and more well-liked. For golfers who want to play professionally and rise in
Malaysia's rankings, Footgolf Malaysia has also formed its own Footgolf League. Men, women, and

benefits.
CHAPTER 2
Organization background

2.1 - Introduction

The organization known as Footgolf Malaysia, which was founded in 2017, is credited with
being the driving force behind the sport's arrival to Malaysia. The group's main office is located at
Bukit Jelutong Golf Centre, where they are honored to run the nation's first Footgolf Course. Footgolf
Malaysia, the organization in charge of overseeing the sport in Malaysia, is the only member of the
Federation for International Footgolf (FIFG). Footgolf Malaysia is dedicated to nurturing the growth
of the sport in Malaysia and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among Malaysians. Footgolf is
rapidly gaining popularity worldwide, spanning over 36 countries and drawing an estimated 250,000
participants

In August 2018, Bukit Jelutong Golf Centre, the top location for footgolf in Malaysia, formally
opened its doors. It offers a comfortable atmosphere for footgolf fans and is conveniently positioned
just 35 minutes from KL International Airport and 30 minutes from the city Centre. The location was
once a deserted par-3 golf course covering 30 acres of land, but Footgolf Malaysia was able to bring it
back to life. Players have the choice of playing 9 or 18 holes on the course, which has 18 holes. The
unique pin placements and approach shots offered by each set of nine holes give variation and interest
to the game of footgolf.

2.2 – What is Footgolf?

A unique sport that combines aspects of golf and football is called footgolf. The rules have been
streamlined, but they still substantially follow those of conventional golf. The strategies and course
layouts used in footgolf are comparable to those in golf. Participants only require a size 5 football and
either turf or indoor shoes (football boots are not allowed for safety reasons). The game is played on a
modified golf course.

4.2 – Task assigned

The two primary parts of a footgolf operation are administration and the staff members in charge
of course upkeep and patron help. The management team concentrates on a variety of duties,
including engaging with customers, managing supplies of equipment and beverages, advertising
footgolf, and supervising course upkeep. They are essential for managing the facility's finances and
marketing initiatives to maintain its seamless operation. The management staff also keeps an eye on
the footgolf course's condition as it is being built and makes sure it is ready for use.

On the other hand, the employees' main duties centre around running the courses and providing
client service. They take care of the cashier, deal with reservations, and help new players. They are
responsible for setting up the flags each day, inspecting the holes for any problems, and guiding
newcomers through the course. As they ensure that foot golfers move across the course without
difficulty, workers' presence is essential to preventing traffic jams and delays. All players benefit from
a well-run, fun footgolf event thanks to their assistance with traffic control and efficient player
mobility. They play a crucial role in establishing a smooth and comfortable atmosphere on the course.
CHAPTER 5

Activity and achievement during practical training

5.1 - Introduction

In addition to being a novel and thrilling experience, setting up a footgolf league brought a
number of particular difficulties and chances for personal development. It necessitated that I study
deeply into the nuances of footgolf as a separate sport with its own set of laws. This required me to
become familiar with the intricacies of the game, comprehend the scoring methodology, and guarantee
that competitors were competing fairly. As a member of the organising team, I had the honour of
collaborating closely with other enthusiastic people who had the same enthusiasm for spreading the
word about footgolf. I was able to benefit from others' experience and obtain insightful knowledge
about event planning, logistics, and efficient communication within the sporting community by
working with like-minded people.

Additionally, running a footgolf league gave me the chance to hone a variety of talents. I
developed my leadership skills through organizing various league functions, such as organizing player
registration, scheduling games, and ensuring that events went off without a hitch. It made me realize
how crucial time management, attention to detail, and flexibility are for dealing with unforeseen
occurrences community.

Additionally, participating in the Footgolf league gave me the chance to network and develop
relationships with players, officials, and fans of the sport. For those who shared a passion for the
sport, this network offered a forum for discussion, experience sharing, and the development of a sense
of community. Overall, setting up a footgolf league was a life-changing event that not only extended
my perspectives but also helped me develop a greater love for the game and its ability to unite people.
My personal and professional life used it as a steppingstone, opening doors to more involvement in
the field of sports management and event planning.
5.2 – Activity or achievement during practical

I have received a lot of knowledge and experience throughout my 15 weeks of industrial training at FootGolf
Malaysia as well as first-hand exposure to the workplace environment. The industrial training, I have received
has also helped me gauge how well I can handle issues that arise in the course of doing everyday chores. I
would like to thank the university and the business community for allowing me to participate in industrial
training and extend my best wishes. Students may acquire new skills and get an understanding of how to
engage and communicate with co-workers and superiors both within and outside of the workplace thanks to this
training. The workplace and university environments are very dissimilar. The students will be overwhelmed if
in a lecture setting with homework, tutorials, assessments and other tasks. Indirectly, this type of circumstance
will be a point of learning for a course that is taken that promotes practical and balanced theory. In fact,
handling bigger event requires a responsible attitude, patience and determination. As a result, in order to
succeed in your job, you must work hard and be fully committed to it. In for a penny, in for a pound. It is
evident that everything learned and contributed while undergoing industrial training with the company benefits
several parties in addition to the students and the business. For instance, the university has contributed to some
extent improve the perception of the institution as one that collaborates with other institutions of higher
learning to produce graduates and a skilled workforce. The completion of this report book is an indication that
I completed all tasks within the allotted timeframe. I am hoping that my industrial training will benefit me and
give me the courage I need to confront my future career.
CHAPTER 6
Comment and recommendation

6.1 – Issues or recommendation

Promotion and information the relative lack of understanding about footgolf in Malaysia is a
significant problem. Footgolf Malaysia may invest money in targeted offline and online marketing
methods to address this and attract more customers. Collaboration with local community centres,
educational institutions, and sports groups may also help raise awareness of the sport and its
benefits.

Growth of the course There is currently only a modest number of courses offered by Footgolf
Malaysia. If there were more foot golfing venues in Malaysia, more people would be able to play
and enjoy the sport. This may require working with existing golf courses or investigating the
construction of particular footgolf facilities.

Educating and Developing To ensure a high level of professionalism and education, Footgolf
Malaysia may invest in official and staff training programmes. This would include training
programmes for course managers, event coordinators, and referees that would enable them to give
participants a consistent and smooth experience.

Focusing on young development is essential for ensuring the footgolf sport's continued growth
in Malaysia. With the assistance of educational institutions and sports academies, Footgolf
Malaysia might launch youth initiatives and programmes. These initiatives would introduce young
players to footgolf, offer coaching and training opportunities, and promote their continued
participation in the activity.

High Level competitions and events: Holding footgolf competitions and events at the national
level would draw both amateur and professional players and advance the sport's promotion. These
occasions would provide a stage for showing abilities, encouraging healthy competition, and
luring sponsorship opportunities. Footgolf might be promoted in Malaysia by working with other
sports organisations or by organising international competitions there.

By addressing these issues and implementing these recommendations, Footgolf Malaysia can
strengthen its position as the governing body for footgolf in Malaysia and further develop the sport
across the nation.
CHAPTER 7
Conclusion

7.1 - Conclusion

I have learned a ton after participating in a 15-week industrial training programmed at Footgolf
Malaysia, and I now have a clear understanding of the company's important position in sport
management. My preparation for the reality of a professional work environment has greatly benefited
by the exposure to the actual and technical components of their work that the professionals at Footgolf
Malaysia gave.

The goal of the industrial training programmed is to guarantee that graduates can move easily
into the workforce. I have learned more about the SOPs and work processes connected to my
particular function thanks to the support and direction of the Footgolf Malaysia personnel, who are all
very nice and helpful. At Footgolf Malaysia, interacting with different clients has also given me the
opportunity to hone crucial interpersonal skills and get more familiar with the mechanics of customer
relationships.

Additionally, the exposure I received while working at Footgolf Malaysia gave me a practical
understanding of the difficulties and duties faced by experts in the field of sport administration. My
identity as a student pursuing training in sport management has been further cemented by this first-
hand experience, which also emphasizes the relevance of the education offered by University
Selangor.

After that, the obligation to write a thorough and organized report after receiving industrial
training has given students invaluable experience in technical report writing. Because of this
experience, I now possess the abilities to write clear, well-organized reports that will be crucial in
future scenarios.

Overall, student involvement in industrial training programmed like this helps to solidify their
identification as aspiring sport management professionals and is consistent with University Selangor's
goal of turning out graduates who are highly qualified and competent. The university's practical
environment and its partnerships with businesses like Footgolf Malaysia help the nation's workforce
become more knowledgeable and skilled.
