2.7 Emboss Unit
1. Before embossing begins, the carriage detects the right hand edge of a Card by EMCH Sensor.
2. The home position of the emboss drum is checked by detecting a slot in the 0 (zero) character in
the drum.
The“0” of Number (1/7):10(OCR7B) Indicates the Home Position.
3. The characters are selected by rotating the drum by EMDM Motor
4. Embossing timing is by detected by sensor disk with EMPH Sensor.
5. Release Clutch stopped by EMCS solenoid, and a clutch is ennabled. EMPM Motor drives the
two emboss arms and compresses the type to emboss the selected Character.

2.8 Indent Unit
1. Before indent operation (emboss press) The indent unit is set to indent position by activating the
indent solenoid. and detected by IDUH sensor ON.
2. The indent font is selected in character drum, and the IDRS Solenoid is activatedto advance the
indent foil. During the indent operation, the indent foil advancement is checked by IDFR sensor
3. IDCS sensor detects the indent foil end. And the Indent cassette insertion is detected by IFS

2.9 Tipper Unit
1. TPCS sensor detects the tipper foil cassette by sensor tab on the cassette.
2. Tipping is performed by cycling the heater block back and forth towards the pressure block by the
TPPM motor. The TPPM motor rotates until the TPPH sensor is interrupted by the pressure block.
3. TPHR sensor counts the pulses from the rotating sensor disc and TPPR motor winds the tipper
foil up to the specified winding length.
