It came into the knowledge of local police through reliable sources that a

group of professors holding different posts are involved in drug peddling, drug using, conducting

dance/sex parties inside and outside of Islamia University Bahawalpur at different farm houses.

There gang leader Abdu Bakar, Treasurer of IUB, always carries some kind of drugs with him

and organized parties of drinking, sniffing with exploited willful and un-willful students and

teachers of University. While he was going on a car with a female student, police party

intercepted him at Naka Bandi Point 07/BC. Six (06) grams ice and three (03) sexual pills were

recovered from him. Upon which, case FIR No.1014/23 dated 28.06.2023 u/s 9(2)1 CNSA was

registered at PS Baghdad ul Jadid. During investigation, he disclosed that he alongwith a group

of other professors purchases and distributes the drugs through students and arranges dance/sex

parties and today he was going to a farm house to celebrate a dance party. Another car with

Major ® Ijaz Akram, CSO of IUB and two female students on its board were following him.

Reportedly, the girls were being taken for dance party. The enquiries revealed that this group of

professors exploit/blackmail innocent girls and implicate them drug using (i.e. ice, liquor and

charas). He also deposed that these indecent activities were being carried out with the

collaboration of Major ® Ijaz Akram, CSO who is overall controller of University affairs.

Mehboob Ather, the then Vice Chancellor of Khawaja Fareed University, Rahimyar Khan from

where he had taken along Abdu Bakar, Treasurer of IUB re-employed him in Islamia

University, Bahawalpur after resignation from Khawaja Fareed University, Rahimyar Khan. On

mobile analysis some pictures were unveiled, which are enclosed.

In the above backdrop of information, Major ® Ijaz Akram, CSO of IUB

was kept under close watch by police. As per report of informer, he was intercepted at Picket

Baghdad ul Jadid Morr. On his personal search, 10 grams ice and 05 sex pills were recovered

from his pocket, for which case FIR No.1132/23 dated 20.07.2023 u/s the Control of Narcotics

Substances Act 9(2)1 PS Baghdad ul Jadid was registered in this regard. During interrogation, he

disclosed that he was coming back after committing sexual intercourse. He also disclosed certain

names of professors namely Muhammad Hussain Tahir, HOD Statistical Department, Asif

Ranjha, Chairman Social Work Department, Sarwar Bajwa, Associate Professor of Computer

Science Department, Dr. Imran & Dr. Umair Ashraf are involved with him in the activities of

buying, selling, sharing and using these drugs at joint parties of dance and sex in University

premises as well as outside of University farm houses with students and female staff of

University. On the analysis of his mobile phone, certain links are being tracked for suppliers and

buyers. The investigation also revealed that 11 university enrolled students having criminal

record are involved in drug peddling.
