Always use an ethernet cable

Disable wifi and other devices when you want to play to win
Update your router firmware
Get your ISP to reset your port regularly
Get your ISP to switch your line to fastpath
Aftermarket routers can be better in most cases (can lower buffer bloat)
Some of these tweaks below will need to be set separately for each network card
(As an example your ethernet card and your wifi card)

Do your own testing

-Without any other devices connected or wifi on
-Preferably when your internet line isn’t congested in your street/neighbourhood

QOS quality of service

Quality of service “on” in the router is highly recommended to keep bufferbloat down
Limiting you download and upload speed in the router can help also

A low/stable bufferbloat will help with your hit registration and input in online games

Router modem settings

I highly recommend an aftermarket router compared to the ISP’s provided one if viable.
If you really want to get your bufferbloat low and play with custom bioses for routers, here are
some links below. There is always a risk for flashing bioses, things can be tricky.
