Zinnia Crop Top Crochet Pattern

Pattern  Notes:  

• The  pattern  is  written  using  standard  American  crochet  terminology.  

• Be  sure  to  check  your  gauge.    
• Instructions  have  been  given  for  EXTRA  SMALL,  SMALL,  and  MEDIUM  sizes.  The  top  can  
easily  be  made  larger  or  longer  by  simply  adding  rows  and  continuing  in  the  established  
pattern.    
• Pictured  tops  were  made  using  Bernat  Handicrafter  Cotton  
• Model  is  pictured  in  a  size  small

Gauge:     Materials:  

• Hexagon  from  round  1-­‐5  should   • 3.5  mm  hook  or  size  needed  to  
measure  ~3.5’’  across  one  edge   obtain  gauge

Upper  trim:    
 
This  trim  is  worked  up  the  side  edge  of  the  top,  then  along  the  top  and  back  down  the  
other  side  (see  blue  arrow  on  photo  below)  
 
With  RS  facing  –  attach  yarn  with  sl  st  to  the  first  hdc  made  of  side  edging  
 
sc  in  next  ch  sp,  *picot,  sc  in  next  ch  sp,  rep  from  *  along  edge  to  last  hdc  of  side  edging  
row,  [2  sc]  in  last  hdc,  turn  piece  so  that  you  are  working  along  the  top  edge  at  the  
neckline,  sc  in  edge  of  last  hdc  made,  sc  in  each  ch  sp  and  dc  across,  sc  in  edge  of  hdc,  
turn  piece  so  that  you  are  working  along  the  remaining  edge  of  the  top,  work  [2  sc]  in  
same  hdc  as  st  last  made,  sc  in  next  ch  sp,  **picot,  sc  in  next  ch  sp,  rep  from  **  along  
edge  to  last  hdc  of  side  edging  row,  sl  st  in  last  sc,  BO  yarn,  weave  in  ends.    
 

 
 
Straps:  
 
Cut  6  lengths  of  yarn  ~  36’’  long.  Take  3  of  these  and  attach  them  to  the  corner  edge  of  
the  neckline  with  a  larks  head  knot.  Braid  these  together  and  knot  the  ends  to  secure.  
Repeat  for  the  other  side.  
 
Ch  75,  BO  yarn,  knot  ends.  This  tie  will  be  strung  through  the  two  circles  at  the  bottom  
of  the  top  near  the  ribs.
