Health Evangelism.

Deut 4:5-8

Much of the prejudice that prevents the truth of the third

angel's message from reaching the hearts of the people, might
be removed if more attention were given to health reform.
When people become interested in this subject, the way is
often prepared for the entrance of other truths. If they see that
we are intelligent with regard to health, they will be more
ready to believe that we are sound in Bible doctrines.

Thus, health reform is one branch of the great work which

is to fit a people for the coming of the Lord. It is as closely
connected with the third angel's message as the hand is with
the body.
CD 69.1
 This self-discipline is essential to that mental strength and
spiritual insight which will enable us to understand and to
practice the sacred truths of God's word. For this reason
temperance finds its place in the work of preparation for
Christ's second coming. {DA 101.2}

Law of health & sin... Sin Tobe sick

It is as truly a sin to violate the laws of our being as it is to break
the ten commandments. To do either is to break God's laws.
Those who transgress the law of God in their physical organism,
will be inclined to violate the law of God spoken from Sinai.

Many have inquired of me, "What course shall I take to best

preserve my health?" My answer is, Cease to transgress the
laws of your being; cease to gratify a depraved appetite; eat
simple food; dress healthfully, which will require modest
simplicity; work healthfully; and you will not be sick. It is a sin
to be sick, for all sickness is the result of transgression.

Those who have received instruction regarding the evils of the

use of flesh foods, tea and coffee, and rich and unhealthful food
preparations, and who are determined to make a covenant
with God by sacrifice, will not continue to indulge their appetite
for food that they know to be unhealthful. God demands that
the appetites be cleansed, and that self-denial be practiced in
regard to those things which are not good. This is a work that
will have to be done before His people can stand before Him a
perfected people. {CCh 233.5}

Working agencies in Nature.

By His own working agencies He has created material which will
restore the sick to health. If men would use aright the wisdom
God has given them, this world would be a place resembling
heaven. . . {MM 121.3}
The use of natural remedies requires an amount of care and
effort that many are not willing to give. Nature's process of
healing and upbuilding is gradual, and to the impatient it seems
slow. The surrender of hurtful indulgences requires sacrifice.
But in the end it will be found that nature, untrammeled, does
her work wisely and well. Those who persevere in obedience to
her laws will reap the reward in health of body and health of
