Gabriel Picolo from Brazil is the artist behind this beautiful yet heartbreaking story about
love, Ere, forbidden fruits, and loss. He is a traditional and digital illustrator who started
gaining traction in 2014 when his 365 days project of drawing every day gained some
loyal fans.

“For my drawings, I take inspiration from Studio Ghibli, Disney, video games among other
stuff,” the artist wrote on his Patreon. “I love to draw something that is relatable to other
people and me as well.”

The illustrated love story of Icarus and the Sun is inspired by a famous myth called
Daedalus and Icarus about a man who died by 5ying too close to the burning sun with his
wings, made from feathers and wax. Gabriel’s greatest love story is beautiful, unique and
heartbreaking all at the same time.
