 * Phonetic and phonology

Phonetic is knowledge that talk’s about the way sound can be made using parts of the
body namely the tongue, teeth, strrippng and lung. Their are three phonetic sciences

1. Arti culatory phonetic

2. Audiotory phonetic

3. Accoustic phonetic

Phonology is the science that finds a system in language one of the branches of
linguistics related to the way a language is spoken

* Articulatory phonetic

articulatory phonetic apart feters to the aspects of phonetic which looks at now the sounds
of speech are made with the organs of the vocal tract.

three part articulation phonetic

1. Sound

the intended sound is the sound that is voiced and is muted:

- voice sounds are sounds that involve vibrations of vocal folds when they are produced

- Noiseless is the sound produced without vibration of vocal folds

2. place
vocal channel consisting of different parts which can be divided in two

- active articulation

- passive articulation
3. manners the way the referring is made different is referred to is

- initiation

Articulator obove the larynx
is a tube which begins just above the larynx at it‘s up is divided into two one part being
the back of the mouth and the other being the beginning of the way through the nassal cavity

the seven articulator described above are the main ones

1. Pharnyx

Pharnyx tube that is the back of the mouth and the beginning of the way thorough the nassal
cavity

2.Velum/soft plate

it allows the air to pass through the nose when its lowered and through the mouth when its
raised

3. Hard palate

it’s the roof of the mouth

4. Alveolar ridge

its between the top front teeth and the hard palate. Its surface is covered which little ridges

5. Tongue

can be moved into many different places and shapes. Its divided into different parts:
tip,blade,front,back,and root

6. Teeth

help a person use their mouth. Eaach type of tooth has a name and a spesicific function
