• Only list entries once, not in multiple categories
• Use short phrases, bullet points, action verbs
• Use punctuation sparingly
• Do not use graphics like borders, gray scaling,
etc. Formatting • Margins: 1 inch or about 25 mm
• Font: 11 or 12 point Helvetica (sans serif) or
Times New Roman (serif)
• Don’t overuse text formatting i.e. bold and italics.
No underlining Formatting • Use caps, bold, and italics to highlight names of institutions and titles. Be consistent. Contact Information • Name, address, phone number, email address
• Include campus or company information if needed
• At least 11 point text
• Increase font for name by 2 points
• Include your name in the header or footer of each
page Contact Information • NO date of birth, marital status, number of children, religion, race or ethnic group, or other personal information
