For Opportunities for social development and education: Volkswagen Group focus on providing
health and education to society and its employees, as well as promoting opportunities for social
development. According to them, their primary goal is to support projects that enable the
development of culture, education, health, conservation of nature and sports.

The 1970s, for example, saw the establishment at their sites in Brazil of a corporate foundation to
promote education and health in those regions. A few short years later, the Community Trust was
founded in South Africa with similar goals. These foundations now look back over many
successful years.

And to promote a Good working environment for its employees: As the Group grows, so does its
responsibility – to offer good and safe places of work; to ensure training and opportunities for the
next generation; for education, science and culture; for a society in which every single person
can develop their talents and above all: for an intact environment.

They agree that enterprises can only develop successfully within a prosperous environment.
Education and health are prerequisites for qualified and productive employees; a good scientific
infrastructure offers better preconditions for a company’s competitiveness and innovation.

Volkswagen does not choose its partnerships and projects indiscriminately, but rather according
to whether they match their mobility activities or are situated close to a site and are beneficial to
people - both inside our factories and beyond the factory gates.

Triple Bottom Line Measures a company’s social, environmental, and financial performance.
In other words, companies are using this technique called Triple Bottom Line which consists in
focusing not only in the accumulation of profits, but also focus in helping society and the
preservation of the environment. For instance, a company that is socially responsible may
promote education and culture for society. A company that concerns about the environment may
implement measures to protect the it, for instance, using natural products that do not contaminate
air, cleaning forests and not throwing waste in the oceans and rivers.

 Why are these Two important?


In a Company these two elements are important because: These two elements are important
because together they create a better working environment for its employees, help society and
the preservation of the environment.
