2 Key Serve Power Moves
2 Key Serve Power Moves
If you look at all the greatest servers in the world, in super slow mo on
video...you will see them consistently achieve these 2 power moves! But is
it possible for club level players to consistently achieve these same power
moves?
2 Key Serve Power Moves - 2
You may be wondering if it’s possible for you to execute these components
and have the ability to hit your serve with effortless power. Instead of taking
our word for it...let’s hear what our students have to say:
These are just some of the examples of the results our students have
achieved working with our specific methodology on the serve. We have in-
vested a lot of effort and me into this methodology so we can confidently
help players of all ages and abili es transform their serve into a weapon!

Another very important element of the racket drop is that you move
through this posi on. Many players are taught in the industry concepts
like ‘scratch your back’. This is very detrimental for your serve mechanics
since it results in you stopping the mo on and breaking the racket head
speed.
So when working on achieving a be er racket drop, feel that it’s a dynamic
posi on and you’re moving through it.

I cannot overstate how important it is for you to follow these progressions and not
find excuses to skip them!
2 Key Serve Power Moves - 8
Below you can find an example of the progressions you should be using when mak-
ing any technical change on your serve:
#1: Shadow Swings
The first step to mastering your new technique is having the ability to perform
them within the shadow swings. The goal is to master within the shadow swing
progress first before moving on through the progressions.
To start, we would recommend doing between 30-50 shadow swings every single
day. These can be done within the comfort of your own home.
#2: Hi ng Foam Ball/Any So Object
Next stage will be to add a foam ball or a low pressurized ball. This makes it more
challenging since you now have a moving target...but it’s s ll easier than hi ng a
regular ball.
This can be done again in the comfort of your own home. We would recommend
comple ng up 50 repe ons of this.
#3: Half Court, Half Serve
Now it’s me to step onto the court and increase the difficulty of the training. For
the first progression, you start inside the court...isola ng the swing star ng in what
we call the half serve posi on. And you serve the ball down the line.
When doing this, we recommend you alternate between 2 shadows, and 1 hit.
#4: Full Court, Half Serve
Now moving back to the baseline, you s ll serve down the line star ng from the
half serve posi on.
Once that becomes natural, then you can progress to hi ng with the full service
swing. This is just a very basic examples of the progressions you can use.
