I. Adverbs of manner
Dùng để diễn tả cách thức của hành động
Đứng sau động từ thường để bổ nghĩa cho động từ thường
Formation : Adjective + ly => Adverb of manner
Beautiful => Beautifully
Quick => Quickly
Soft => Softly
Bad => Badly
Happy => Happily
Simple => Simply
Những tính từ và trạng từ bất quy tắc

Notes : - hardly (adv.): hầu như không

Eg. He hardly knows the answer.
- lately (adv. ) gần đây ( nói về thời gian )
Eg. We haven’t seen Jack recently.
Eg. She is beautiful. She is a beautiful singer. (adj.)
She sings beautifully. (adv.)
* Sentence transformation : Adj. Adv.; Noun Verb
Eg. She is a very good cook.
 She cooks very well.
Eg.They are hard -working students.
They work hard.
Eg.He speaks French very well.
 He is a very good French speaker. /He is very good at speaking French .
Eg.They teach Math well.
 They are good teachers of Math. / They are very good at teaching Math.
II.COMMANDS AND REQUESTS IN REPORTED SPEECH:
( Câu tường thuật của câu mệnh lệnh , yêu cầu )
Eg. Miss Jackson said to Tim : “ Please help me.”
“ Can/ Could / Will / Would you help me ?”
“ Would you mind helping me ?”
=> Miss Jackson asked / told Tim to help her.
Eg. The teacher said : “ Don’t make so much noise, boys.”
“ Would you mind not making so much noise ?”
=> The teacher asked / told the boys not to make so much noise.
Formation :
S+ ASKED / TOLD/ ORDERED/ WARNED + SOMEONE (OBJ.) +( NOT) TO –INF.

III. ADVICE IN REPORTED SPEECH (lời khuyên trong câu nói gián tiếp)
Eg. His mother said : “You should/ ought to work harder on your Spanish pronunciation.”
=> His mother said (that) he should/ ought to work harder on his Spanish pronunciation.
=> His mother advised him to work harder on his Spanish pronunciation.

Eg. Her mother said : “You shouldn’t / oughtn’t to spend too much time on playing video games.”
=> Her mother said (that) she shouldn’t / oughtn’t to spend too much time on playing video games.
=> Her mother advised her not to spend too much time on playing video games.

Form : S1 + SAID (THAT)+ S2 + SHOULD + V-INF.

S+ ADVISED + SOMEONE (OBJ.) +( NOT) TO –INF.
