New Education Policy 2020
The new education policy was announced by the HRD Minister
Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on July 29, 2020. A committee of experts
under the chairmanship of 'ISRO' chief K. Kasturirangan prepared
the draft of 'National Education Policy 2020' on May, 2019.
 Under the new education policy, the 5+3+3+4 model will be
implemented in place of the currently active 10+2 educational model.
 Himachal Pradesh is the first state to implement the New
Education Policy 2020.
Section-370 and 35A : Facts
 On August 11, 2019 the Govt. abolished the special status of the
state of Jammu and Kashmir.
 Clause-1 of the three sections of Article 370 is still in force.
 At the time of abrogation of Article 370, the Governor of Jammu
and Kashmir was Satya Pal Malik.
 On August 5, 2019, Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the
'Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill-2019' to remove Article
370 in the Rajya Sabha.
 Jammu and Kashmir came into existence on 31 October 2019 as
two union territories of Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh.
 Girish Chandra Murmu became the first Lieutenant Governor
of the Union Territory of Jammu- Kashmir and Radha Krishna
Mathur became the first Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
NITI Aayog
 NITI Aayog is constituted by the Govt. of India on January, 1,
2015 which has been created in place of Planning Commission.
 Full form is National Institute for Transforming India (NITI).
 NITI Aayog is headed by the Prime Minister.
 Arvind Panagariya was the first Deputy Chairman of NITI Aayog.
 Sindhushree Khullar was the first CEO of NITI Aayog.

 President gave his assent to the GST Bill on 8 September 2016.
