Dear Sir
In considering your request, I have had regard to your letter of 18 February 2009 setting out
what you consider to be the basis on which inspection of FSNI file 1942/91 should properly
be allowed . I have also noted lire extracts from FSNI file 2071 /91 which were sent to me and
which contain reference to the other party named in your aforesaid letter .
I have now been advised by police that save for the statement of Ruth Griffins dated 22.7 . 91
which has already been provided to you, FSNI file 1942/91 contains no material relating to
your client or to the other party referred to above. In light of this it is not considered
appropriate to grant inspection facilities in respect of this file.
I have noted reference in some of the previous correspondence to the fact that you were
anticipating that further grounds of appeal and a fresh evidence application may be lodged. If
this is still the intention, 1 should be grateful to receive the relevant paperwork as soon as
possible.
Yours faithfully
