Introduction

All praise is for Allah. We praise Him and seek His help
and forgiveness. We turn to him in repentance and
seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves and the
wickedness of our own deeds. Whomsoever Allah
guides cannot be lead astray and whomsoever Allah
misguides, none can guide him. I bear witness that
none has the right to be worshipped except Allah,
alone without any partner, and bear witness that
Muhammad is His slave and messenger. May Allah
praise and send much peace upon him and all of his
companions.
How many times, has the evil eye cause division
between people, sickness, loss of wealth or family, or a
streak of general bad luck.
I am going introduce some of the subjects regarding
the evil eye and envy. Both the evil eye and envy will
be discussed. To Proceed:

3
The effects of the evil eye

The evil eye has harm, depending on the level of is

impact. But only Allah noes the wisdom, behind is
effect and cause. Weather the human or jinn which
cast the evil eye can manifest from an evil notion that
exists.

“And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what

your hands have earned; but He pardons much.”

4
The maximum impact that the evil eye can cause is that
it can enter person to his grave. Stated in the hadith
narrated by Jabir bin Abdullah:
“Evil-eye is true. It puts a camel in a cooking pot and a
man in grave.” (Kashfu’l-Khafa, 2: 76, narrated Abu
Naim).
The evil eye steams from jealousy and the soul of
humans can have a part of an evil inclination, that
results from the evil eye.
The practical implication, of the evil eye connects and
targets the heart as this organ has emotional feeling
like love, fear etc.
The envy is built upon the heart being jealous and once
the heart is jealous then the good actions can be wiped
away. Anas ibn Malik reported: The messenger of
Allah, peace and blessings be upon him said, “Envy
consumes good deeds just as fire burns wood. Charity
extinguishes sinful deeds just as water extinguishes
fire. Prayer is the light of the believer and fasting is his
shield from the Hellfire.”
Envy stems from the evil eye and the evil eye stems
from Envy and that envy can have the element of anger
within it.

5
The evil eye is like an arrow the targets the heart,
causes the heart to be overcome with shock and make
a person unhappy, if not checked treating evil eye by
using the method of Ruqyah. then it can lead to other
problems such as loss of appetite, body weakness,
stomach ache, insomnia, fever, nausea, eye infections,
lack of energy, and temperament.

It is when the consequence of the evil eye develops

and grows to form a temporary damage to the heart
and try to weaken this organ. To eradicate the evil eye
the reading the Quran plays major role in suppressing
and eliminating the effect of the evil eye. Allah says,

6
“And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing
and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase
the wrongdoers except in loss.”(17:82)

The weight of the verse of the Quran is heavy and has

an impact in which the Quran brings the equation of
tranquillity.

The subject matter, regarding the evil eye certainly has

is effect. In which the evil eye can be great in is result
and furthermore in is causes and may introduce is
impact.
Nobody noes the affair in which things happen? And
their nature but Allah has degreed is time and place.
Therefore, the evil eye can act as blessing when the
person is affected and how he deals with it? The evil
eye can raise a person Iman only if he or she acts upon
it. Abu Huraira reported: The messenger of Allah peace
and blessing be upon him said, “Verily, a man may have
a rank with Allah that he does not achieve by his good
deeds. Thus, Allah continues to put him to trial with
what he hates until he reaches the rank destined for
him.”

7
Can the evil eye be sihr?

Suppressing the evil eye by evaluating and monitoring

the sudden occurrences of negative energy that evil
eye produces and is aftereffects such as disturb sleep
and other forms of effect. The Quran itself plays major
role eliminating negative energy. There are levels of
negative energy in the body of person effected with
the evil eye ranging from low to high i.e shaytan, Marid
and Ifrit. Evil eye can lead a person to vulnerability to
iblees. Depending on the level of negative energy
depends how strong shaytan is. When referring to
negative energy is the evil eye after effect.

The heart is where evil trys to manifest itself, just as

shaytan whispers to hearts of mankind because
shaytan is aware that this particular organ is weak
when not protected and he is aware if he target’s the
heart then the rest of the body becomes weak. Al –
Nu’man ibn Bashir reported: The Messenger of Allah,
peace and blessings be upon him said: Verily, in the
8
body is a piece of flesh which, if sound, the entire body
is sound, and if corrupt, the entire body is corrupt.
Truly, it is the heart. Similarly, shaytan wishes to cause
hatred and division between two people. The hatred is
the evil eye and the division is the work of shaytan
(Devil). So is clear that shaytan plays a role in the
concept of the evil eye.

The evil eye and sihr are two different evil effects. The
evil eye happens through external contact i.e eye to
eye and sihr happen internally through dark energy,
smelled and sihr can be eaten. There are two surah in
the Quran that deals with internal and external magic,
these are surah falaq and surah nas. Abdullah ibn
khubayb reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and
blessings be upon him, said, “speak.” I said, “What
should I say?” The Prophet said, “Say: He is Allah, the
One, (112:1) and the two chapters of refuge, al – Falaq
and al – Nas, every evening and morning three times.
They will be enough for you against everything.”

9
The Quran is the book of Allah and the guidance the
Quran produces are the many matters that concern
mankind like the prohibition regarding what is Halal
and what is Haram. And the protection we seek against
evil and is affair. Is by being aware of the evil that
surrounds a believer and non – believer.

Hadith regarding the evil eye

1.) Abu Dharr reported: The Messenger of Allah,

peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily,
the evil eye might attach itself to a man by
permission of Allah, until he climbs a tall
mountain and then throws himself off it.”

2.) Jabir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace

and blessings be upon him said, “A great many
from my nation who die, after the judgment,
decree, and providence of Allah, die by the evil
eye.”

10
3.) Ibn Abbas reported: The Prophet, peace and
blessings be upon him, would seek refuge for his
grandsons Hasan and Husayn, saying, “ Verily,
your forefather would seek refuge for Ishmael
and Isaac. I seek refuge in the perfect words of
Allah from every devil and scourge and every
harmful eye.”

4.) Abdullah ibn Sarjis reported: The Prophet, peace

and blessing be upon him, would say when he
travelled, “ O Allah, you are the companion on
the journey and the caretaker of the family. O
Allah, accompany us on our journey and take
care of our families. I seek refuge in you from
the hardship of travel, returning in sorrow, loss
after gain, the supplication of the oppressed,
and the evil glance at our families and
property.”

11
The raging heart (Envy)

The heart itself consists of emotion. The heart relies

upon nurture and care that will benefit him in this
world and in the hereafter. So if the heart experience
envy then the person who cast the envy in his heart
towards another, has demonstrated hatred and should
be careful as the more you envy the more good deeds
are diminish. Is not to be surprised that if human
shaytan appeared towards you, is a fact that you would
experience the presence of his envy towards you
because shaytan has always and will have envy
towards mankind as Iblees has fed hatred and lies to
his followers about mankind.

Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy. He only invites

his party to be among the companions of the Blaze.(chapter 35:6)

12
The ranging heart is a sickness that brings true reality
of destruction in ones Iman(faith) and in one’s
hereafter. When a person experiences the presents of
Iman and has his trust in Allah then there no envy that
he has towards anybody.
Similarly, when the heart feels envy is the work of
shaytan. And therefore, envy echoes the anger in
which Allah is displeased with. Envy plays major role in
corrupting the heart and defining the true reality in
which envy demonstrates is bad intention.
Abu Hatim said, “From envy is born malice, and malice
is, the root of evil. Whoever harbors evil in his heart, it
produces a bitter tasting plant from which grows rage
and its fruit is regret.”

Envy is distraction from the good deeds, as therefore

envy is sin and has no inclusion to faith. As in hadith
reported by Abu Huraira: The messenger of Allah,
peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Faith and envy
are not combined within a believing servant.”

13
The silent sin and being aware of Envy

Nobody noes the intention of person’s heart. However,

Envy is considered a major sin. A person must do, is
upmost best to distance himself from Envy and ask
Allah protection from it. Envy has no benefit, nor does
it have any gain but is purely evil.

Envy can be hidden form of hatred in the heart, and it

can also be apparent action that displays despise. In
both contexts usually an envier would not openly envy
a person for example to tell him I hate what you have
and wish that God (Allah) removes from you. This
intention is completely wrong. So therefore, the
intention of envy and is wickedness has the results of
disease heart, a black dot place on the heart and
absolutely no gain or benefit, whatsoever.

14
Hadiths regarding Envy

1.) Yunus ibn Ubayd reported: Ibn Sirin, may Allah

have mercy on him said, “I have never envied
anyone over something they had in the world.
For if he was among the people of paradise, how
could I envy him for something in the world
while he will be sent to Paradise? If he was
among the people of Hellfire, how could I envy
him for something in the world while he will be
sent to Hellfire?

2.) Al-Bayhaqi reported: Al-Ahnaf ibn Qays, may

Allah have mercy on him, said, “Five are as I say:
There is no rest for the envious, there is no
manhood for the liar, there is no loyalty for
kings, there is no escape for the miser, and there
is no respect for bad character.”

3.) Sahl ibn Hunayf reported: The Messenger of

Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If
one of you sees something from his brother, or
in himself, or in his wealth which impresses him,
15
then supplicate for him to be blessed in it.
Verily, the evil eye of envy is real.”

Conclusion

The evil is true, is impact is true and the signs are true.
The method in compacting the evil eye is to have a
close relationship with the Quran. To ask Allah to
protect you from the evil eye. Envy and evil eye work
together, as envy is the rage and anger that a person
has towards someone else because Allah has given him
what that person hasn’t. So by being aware of the evil
eye and envy we seek Allah’s refuge from this.
