Membership Vows 1. Do you acknowledge yourself to be a sinner in the sight of God, justly deserving his displeasure, and without hope, except through his sovereign mercy? 2. Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and savior of sinners, and do you receive and trust him alone for salvation as he is offered in the gospel? 3. Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes a follower of Christ? 4. Do you promise to support the church in it's worship and work to the best of your ability? 5. Do you submit yourself to the government and discipline of the church, and promise to strive for its purity and peace?

The First Word We believe that God always initiates with sinners, so we begin worship with His word, His invitation to us to gather in His name. Announcements:

CALL TO WORSHIP

Psalm 145:10-13

All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your saints shall bless you! They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power, to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. HYMN OF WORSHIP 1. O worship the King, all glorious above, And gratefully sing His power and His love; Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days, Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise. 2. You are officially set free to minister to one another and to the city of Denton

Our Hopes for Denton

We hope Christ will create out of the diverse communities of our city, a new worshipping community that will experience the grace, joy and freedom of the gospel. Praise awaits you O God in Zion...blessed are those you have chosen. We are filled with the good things of your House! (Psalm 65) We hope we will become a welcoming community open to the skeptic, the seeker, the new convert and the struggling Christian. We hope we will meet the spiritual, physical and social needs of the people around us and share together in the life of Christ. They broke bread in each others homes with glad and sincere hearts, enjoying the favor of all the people. And God added to their number daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:46-47) We hope we will become a serving community that loves our city and gives to, challenges, and changes Denton through gospel ministries of word, justice and mercy. When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices. (Proverbs 11:10) We hope we will become a growing community that helps establish other churches around North Texas, the nation and the world. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing. (Colossians 1:6)
