CALL TO WORSHIP

Psalm 145:10-13

All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your saints shall bless you! They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power, to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. HYMN OF WORSHIP 1. O worship the King, all glorious above, And gratefully sing His power and His love; Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days, Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise. 2. O tell of His might, O sing of His grace, Whose robe is the light, Whose canopy space, Whose chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form, And dark is His path on the wings of the storm. 3. Thy bountiful care, what tongue can recite? It breathes in the air, it shines in the light; It streams from the hills, it descends to the plain, And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain. 4. Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail, In Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to fail; Thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end, Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend. PRAYER OF INVOCATION

Our Hopes for Denton

We hope Christ will create out of the diverse communities of our city, a new worshipping community that will experience the grace, joy and freedom of the gospel. Praise awaits you O God in Zion...blessed are those you have chosen. We are filled with the good things of your House! (Psalm 65) We hope we will become a welcoming community open to the skeptic, the seeker, the new convert and the struggling Christian. We hope we will meet the spiritual, physical and social needs of the people around us and share together in the life of Christ. They broke bread in each others homes with glad and sincere hearts, enjoying the favor of all the people. And God added to their number daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:46-47) We hope we will become a serving community that loves our city and gives to, challenges, and changes Denton through gospel ministries of word, justice and mercy. When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices. (Proverbs 11:10) We hope we will become a growing community that helps establish other churches around North Texas, the nation and the world. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing. (Colossians 1:6)
