Question 1

1.1. Considering my cultural background I agree that the little Red hen deserved to
eat the entire bread by herself. Where I was I raised, which is my family we used
to help each other with everything because we knew how powerful unity is. I was
always taught that every action has its own repercussions and I should take
responsibility of my actions regardless of how difficult they are. In my family
everyone had their particular chore entitled to them, we worked together every
time when we are cleaning, I did not do my chore some other time and I got away
with it. The second time I was punished heavily when everyone had meat for
supper I had eggs and bread and they knew how much I loved meat. I can say I
relate to this story and that is why I agree that the little Red hen deserved to eat
the entire bread by herself.
1.2. From this story we can learn that we should help each other because unity is
very strong. Unity can make every terrifying obstacles look like small water. It’s
very essential that every human being should know the power of unity and
helping each other. The English saying of “You will reap what you sow” is not a
myth it is reality.

Task 3

3.1.Tshepiso is attractive and intelligent activist who was initially training as a

lawyer. He is known by Tichere. He is expelled from university because of his
political activities. He became a teacher but later left to become a truck driver at
a firm based in Polokwane called Pan-Am pharmaceuticals Pty Ltd. In order to
proceed as a protagonist of the organized labour, he strikes with his subversion
of the state. It can be clear that Tshepiso is a person who is into politics with his
whole heart. Tichere by the name he is known by, is the main brain behind the
organized labour strikes at his firms. The firms belongs to the mokga wa
bakganni ba teransefela (MBT) Transvaal truck drivers union. His political actions
affect the lives of the people in his immediate environment, even though they are
not, or not in the same active way, involved with or even supportive of his
actions. Most of them seem to be interested in having only quite ordinary and
personal relationships with him. Frequently disappearing from the scene and
missing appointments his life is veiled in considerable secrecy, especially as
regards his relationship with two women, Ntshepo, his first love and mother of
their out-of-wedlock child, and Ntombi, his rich landlady's attractive daughter.
3.2. When I look in the mirror I see a young boy who has ambitious dreams but is
currently worried about how he is going to achieve his dreams. Everyone has his
or her own mirror reflection and I can’t say mine is variant from other people’s
one. Every time when I look to the mirror I remember where I come from and that
helps me to find out where am going. Mirror reflection helps me to keep in track
with who I am and motivates me every time. As I look in the mirror I see scars
from my life and I some times cry alone because of the obstacles I managed I
went past. I have my self talk with my self and I kindly correct all the mistakes I
made in my life and make sure I do not repeat them again. It’s terrifying when I
sometimes look at where I am and ask myself how did I manage to come across
such miserable obstacles.
A. I come from an underprivileged family and every thing that I have in my life I
had to grind in order to get. There were times where I went to school with torn
shoes and clothes because my mother did not have enough money to provide.
There were also times where I went to school with an empty stomach. There was
this one teacher with a big heart who always gave me something to eat, she
encouraged me at all times and she told me that she saw huge potential despite
my background. She was always by my side because at times she saw I wanted
to quit school and go find a job to help my mother financially. I was raised by a
single parent and I had only one sibling. It’s painful journey but I managed to
finish school and indeed I passed my matric. Matric was one of the hardest
journey because financially it was draining. My mother tried by all means to make
me look like other kids. That is why I wanted to make her proud by passing my
matric. By merely looking at our financial problems there was no way I could go
to university without a bursary. My teacher who I consider as heavenly sent
helped me to apply for a bursary and fortunately I got the bursary and I managed
to go to university to go study my favourite course. It was not an easy journey at
all but I managed to prosper, without the support of my teacher I wouldn’t have
been where I am. On my spare time I still visit that teacher even when times are
hard I go to her to ask for some advice.
B. Fast forward here I am, studying the course I always wanted to do. I
understand and know that I did not get here by fluke. To be able to prosper I
should remember where I come from and where am going. I know that I still have
a long way to go and determination and endurance will be the key to my success.
I need to work very hard, submit all my assignments in time in order to pass my
modules. I know that the course am studying right now is not easy but I am going
to do everything in my power to make sure that I graduate so that I can make my
mother proud. Making my mother proud is one of the factors that helps me to
never give up no matter what happens or no matter how hard the situation is. My
dreams are very ambitious and I believe I can achieve them by determination
and never forgetting where I come from. I’m still far off from completing my
journey but I’m getting there step by step. I’m going to need motivation but I
already have motivation since I know where I come from.
