Instruction Manual to install HP Deskjet450 IR printer

Install MCS7780 drivers on to your system. Connect 7780 to the Host controller, the
device gets detected.
Now follow the instructions as listed below to install HP Deskjet450 IR printer.

Instructions for Installing HP Deskjet450 printer drivers.

Insert HP Deskjet450 printer CD into CD-ROM drive.
Select Customization utility from the HP Deskjet 450 menu which get's displayed
after inserting the CD or run the Setup.exe from the driver disk of HP Deskjet450
printer.
Follow on-screen instructions to install the printer drivers.
After the printer drivers are installed check for the folder by name dj450 which will
be created in one of the partitions of your hard disk.

Adding the printer through printer wizard.

1. Goto Start-> Settings-> Printers and Faxes or Start->Control Panel-> Printer and
Faxes
A window shall appear as shown :

2. From Printer Tasks select Add a printer option which helps you to install a printer.
By doing so Add Printer Wizard welcome window appears as shown below.
3.Click on Next and a window appears as shown below.

4. This wizard helps you to select the type of printer you wan't to install. Select the
option “Local printer attached to this computer” and click on Next.
5. Select the port through which the printer has to communicate. In this case select
IR(Local Port) from the drop down list as shown in the above screen and click on
Next.

6. Install printer software window get's displayed as shown below.

7. This wizard helps you to select the manufacturer and printer model. In this case
select manufacturer as HP and printer as hp deskjet 450 printer. If the correct printer
model is not available in the printers option you have to provide the driver path. So
select the option Have Disk and click on Next.
You shall find the following screen.

8. Select the browse option to copy the printer files. Here specify the path of dj450
folder and click on OK. By doing so a window appears displaying the printer model
you have selected & then click on Next.
9. In this wizard you can keep existing driver or Replace existing driver with the one
you want to install and click on Next.
10. This wizard asks you to assign a name to the printer. Default name is hp deskjet
450 printer, you can change this name if required. Click on Next to proceed further.

11. You can share the printer with other network users through this wizard. Select the
option “Do not share this printer” in case if you doesn't wan't the printer tobe shared.
12.To confirm that the printer is installed properly, you can print a test page by
selecting the option Yes. Before doing so ensure that both MCS7780 as well as IR
printer are within the allowable range and the wireless link is established.

13.This wizard displays all the details pertaining to hp deskjet 450 printer.
14. You can also check the printer you installed in Control panel-> Printer and Faxes
as shown below.

This finishes the installation process of HP deskjet 450 IR printer.

14.Now place the HP Deskjet 450 opposite to MCS7780 for establishing IR link.
You can see a Message in Taskbar as DJ450 printer in range when the link is
established. Now you are ready to use the printer.
