Online Platform
- are technologies that are grouped
to be used as a base upon which
other applications processes or
technologies are developed.
- is base of technologies designed
to run within an online
environment and provides
interactive online services.
Examples of Online Platforms:

3. Social media
4. Web Page Creation
5. File Management
6. Mapping
Presentation and Visualization
- is a website/application that we
can use to create presentation,
infographics or videos and we
were able to share it to others via
internet.
- communicates info clearly and
efficiently via statistical graphics,
plots and information graphics.
Examples of Presentation and
Visualization:
1. Prezi
- is an online tool/software which
allows you to zoom in and out,
display, and navigate your
presentation in 2.5 D or parallax.
- helping reinvent the art of
presentation.
2. Zoho Office Suite
- is another office suite just like
MS Office which contains word
processing, spreadsheets,
presentation, databases, note-
taking, wikis, web conferencing
and project management.
- online project management app
that helps you plan and keep
track of your work’s progress.
3. Slide Share
- is a presentation tool that lets
users upload files publicly or
privately.
- to build quickly from concise,
well-presented content from top
experts.
4. Mind Meister
- an online mind-mapping tool that
lets you capture, develop and
share ideas visually.
- it also lets you assign task for
collaboration, set priorities, add
due dates, and indicate progress
by using a widget.
Cloud Computing
- it is the practice of using a
network of remote servers hosted
on the internet to store, manage,
and process data, rather than a
 local server or a personal
computer.
- in other terms, it is the storage
hosted online with free of
charges rather than your any
local host or personal computers.
- simply called as “the cloud”.
- you can access it anytime,
anywhere.
Examples of Cloud Computing:
1. Google Drive
- is the most popular cloud tool
storage that offers free charges.
- the greatest feature I that you can
share your files through the link
so that you can collaborate with
your co-workers, customers,
family, etc.
- with a “Google account”, you
can access other services such as:
a) Google Docs
o allows you to create a
resume or any type of letter
document and share with
your co-workers, friends,
etc.
b) Google Sheets
o allows you to create and
share spreadsheet
documents like MS Excel.
c) Google Slides
o allows you to create and
share slide presentation.
d) Google Forms
o allows you to create and
share forms such as
attendance survey and quiz
form GCR.
2. Evernote
- it is design by Evernote
Corporation for note taking,
organizing and archiving.
3. Dropbox
- designed to allow users to
synchronized their files from a
personal computer to cloud
computing.
- free of charge and used by many
individuals who want to have
backup files through internet
cloud.
Social Media
- are computer-mediated tools that
allow people, companies and
other organizations to create,
share, or exchange information,
career interests, ideas, and
pictures/videos in virtual
communities and networks.
- in other terms, it consists of
website/apps that enable users to
create and share content in social
networks.
Examples of Social Media
1. Twitter
- online social networking service
that allows users to post
messages and keeps you updated
to latest happening/conversation
through the trending section.
- short 280-character messages are
called “tweets”.
2. Facebook
- the most popular social
networking online platforms.
3. Tumblr
- a micro-blogging platform for
blog and entertainment about
beauty, fashion, etc. that makes
you happy.
4. Instagram
- is an American photo and video
sharing social networking
services owned by “Meta”.
Web Page Creation
- allows you to showcase your web
content.
- encompasses a number of
important elements including
color, layout, and overall
graphical appearance.
Examples of Web Page Creation:
1. Wix
- a cloud-based web development
platform that allows users to
create HTML5 websites and
mobile sites through the use of
their online drag and drop tools.
2. Weebly
- a web-hosting service featuring a
drag-and-drop website builder
that allows you to create unique
websites, blog or online
platforms.
Drag and Drop features
- means that within the platform
you can drag widgets and design
elements to create your site
instead of working with code.
File Management
- allows you to manage your files
digitally whether it is saving,
converting into a different format
and retrieving.
Examples of File Management:
1. Zamzar
- web app that allows you to
convert files via online.
2. Word2PDF
- it converts word documents into
PDF (portable document format)
or vice versa.
Mapping
- a transformation taking the points
of one space into the points of the
same or author space.
- uses GPS (global positioning
system) where you can access
online maps where to go while
driving a car.
Examples of Mapping:
1. Google Maps
 - it is developed by Google for
desktop and mobile web mapping
services via online.
2. Wikimapia
- it is clickable web map with a
geographically referenced wiki
system for privately owned open
content.
Content Management System (CMS)
- is a computer application
(sometimes online or browser-
based, only works w/ internet
connection) that allows you to
publish, edit and manipulate,
organize and debate web content.
- CMS is used in blogs, news
websites, and shopping
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
- is the code that styles web
contents.
- it is a sheet style language and it
is what you see to selectively
style HTML elements.
Blogs
- is a discussion or informational
website published on the web
consisting of discrete, often
informal diary-style text entries
(“posts”).
o Posts are typically
displayed in reverse
chronological order, so that
the most recent post
appears first, at the top of
the web page.
Website Template
- or web template, is are pre-
designed webpage, simply by
adding your text and
customization to create your
desired web page. It is usually
built with HTML and CSS code.
REMEMBER!
Today, we use a WYSIWYG editor. It
allows you to create and design a web
page without any coding knowledge.
WYSIWYG
- acronym for “what you see is
what you get”.
- this means that whatever you
type, insert, draw, place, re-
arrange, and everything you do
on a page is what the audience
will see.
- it shows and prints whatever you
type on the screen.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- a feature that maximizes the
search engine optimization
feature so visitors can easily
locate your website.
Basic Web Page Creation
STEP 1: Open MS Word
STEP 2: Type anything on the page
like “Hello World!”
STEP 3: Click on File > Save as >
Type any file name
STEP 4: In the save as type, select
“Web Page (*.htm, *.html)”
STEP 5: Click the Change Title button.
STEP 6: Input the title as seen below,
then click “OK” then save.

STEP 7: Open your saved file and you

will see that you just created a
webpage using MS Word.
