THE MEDIA CONTENT

In this guide you will be able to discover the steps to highlight Pier Augé products and
your beauty institute. We mainly focused on photo content but it is important to know
that videos, Reels and IGTV (on instagram) are very talkative means of communication.

2. How to set the perfect background

A. Choosing the scene


In this photo, released on Instagram on the
occasion of Mother’s Day, the background is a
piece of satin sheets with dried flowers.

However it is still important that the background


does not take over the product you want to
highlight. We usually take pictures with sober
backgrounds, but for events such as Mother’s Day,
Christmas... we think it’s wise to bring a little
originality.

Each of the creations is still personal but it is


preferable that the latter correspond to the brand.
To highlight the male range, we recommend using
male accessories (without stereotype) as with raw
materials (wood, water etc...)

Moreover, you can highlight your beauty salons


(here comes your personalization). Maybe you
should choose some pretty clear places that don’t
reflect the shiny packading of our brand. It is
preferable for us to have fairly neutral spaces, in
clear tones, also referring to a high-end brand
image (use of marble, silk, earthenware, nice
fabrics...)

We think that putting photos of your


institutes/outlets is also a good way to create
closeness between you and your followers.

and not to "steal the spotlight" of the

B. Find a nice atmosphere
In order to find an atmosphere that corresponds to Pier Augé, we have prepared some tips for you.
We think that it is important the atmosphere corresponds to the product(s) you want to highlight.

Stage products in the bathroom or in your institutes


Use backgrounds (fabrics, color background, wood effect background... you can find them easily
on Amazon)
Use accessories (professional accessories, towels, cottons, flowers, mirror to play with perspective
etc...)
Stage the product with your hands, in application, in care ...

Here are some ideas of atmosphere that you can achieve according to each of our ranges

In this range, we find the concept of cleansing,


purity of the skin. So we choose an atmosphere
with cotton or wheat. Here too we can stage
products in the bathroom or in treatment room
of your beauty instituts.

background, with spring atmospheres. We can
also highlight scenes of bathroom or treatment

For the staging, a rim of bathtub or water point


will echo the notion of hydration.

TIME CONTROL

Time Control is a range that targets women with


mature skin. We can therefore have an
atmosphere with flowers for example, a beautiful
brightness or natural light.

Do not hesitate to stage the products in your


hands, zoom the application on the face.

In this range, we target men who take
care of their skins. We are on a range
dedicated to the skin of men so it is
important to have an adequate

3. HOW TO CROP PICTURES

FRAMING THE PHOTO


We think it’s a good idea to remove items
outside your photo that would not match the
brand. This is why the step of "trimming" his Lola & Garance's little + :
photos is important.

On the first photo the computer support is beautiful but the frame is not useful and
does not bring anything from an aesthetic point of view. It is therefore better to
remove it as in the second photo. In addition, cropping sometimes makes it possible
to enlarge the main subject of the photo (here products for men).
4. how to find the right filter

To respect the high-end image of our brand, it is better, as we mentioned in the


previous points, to make clear and bright photos. However, it is sometimes difficult to
achieve the desired effect without retouching.

For this we have prepared a small selection of simple but important settings.

You can see that the tones are clearer and the contrast more marked. Thanks to these
changes, we went from a faint photo with a yellowish background (photo 1) or dark
background (photo 2) to vivid photos.
For Iphone: In your gallery click directly on Edit in the top right corner. You will arrive
in a black screen. There is the "magic wand" which automatically adjusts the settings
according to the photo. This tool can be very useful to start.

For the more experienced, you can adjust the settings yourself. Often, for our photos,
we increase with the cursor, brightness, exposure, light tones, shadows and
contrasts. (These are the items opposite)

Trust your instincts! Each photo cannot


have exactly the same settings! Do not
hesitate to test several degrees of
exposure, luminosity, light tones etc... and
when you have found your perfect setting,
you just have to save the changes and it is
in the box!

The photo opposite is overexposed, the


background is no longer visible. Despite
the light on the products, the result is
neither beautiful nor professional.
For Android: The approach is quite similar to that on Iphone but we still wanted to
guide you. First, go to your gallery. Then click on the 3 small dots in the top right
corner.

5. HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FONT
If you use text editors like Canva, Power Point, Word, the font that most resembles the
one on our Packaging is the one called KIONA. This is the one we use if we have to
write on our photos.
In any case, we do not impose on you a special font, you are free in the choice of the
latter. We simply recommend using a simple, readable and not overloaded font.

6. HOW TO WRITE A CATCHY LEGEND

Where is a legend on social media?

A legend is the whole text that you will write below your posts (Instagram or
Facebook).
The important thing to remember is that on average we take 8 seconds of playback
time on Instagram legends. In other words, followers read the first two lines before
making an opinion and knowing whether they want to continue reading or not.

So how do you get attention?

To do this, your first sentences will be essential since they will give the impetus to the
continuation of your legend.
As a beautician you can also give advices on how to apply the product you have
highlighted on the post, its benefits or even its active ingredients. Subscribers are very
fond of advice!
You can ask fairly simple and open questions about a product like "what is your
favorite Pier Augé product?" but also put fast affirmations like "enjoy the Easter
weekend to take care of yourself"

Is a long legend useless?

No, again it’s still subjective, and we rely on figures about time spent on reading
legends.
For example for a contest, the legend will necessarily be a bit long to explain the terms
and rules of the game.
What could also be interesting is to make videos "TUTO" on how to apply this or that
product. Already because in video the time to capture the attention is longer and then
because thanks to it your legends can be shorter because the product has already been
sublimated.

Is a legend mandatory?

No, indeed a photo/ video may be enough for itself. After all, it’s good to have a few
words or tag someone so as not to have a too empty legend.

In both cases, the caption is short and brief but


summarizes the message conveyed.
In the first, we ask a question directly to the
followers (we come back to what we told you earlier,
we create a link)

Here the legend is quite long since it tells a story, that of the birth of the brand. The
first sentence "Pier Augé, a strong history in the world of cosmetics" is catchy.
The legend explains the concept in the form of a story in order to captivate. So here’s a
good example of how to succeed in a long legend.
7. HOW TO SPEAK ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS
Now that we’ve seen how to capture attention, let’s talk about the content of the
descriptions. Even though it is important to post small messages like "good luck for the
beginning of the week" on a regular basis, it is also essential to make informative
publications on the products. This is what will make your customers willing to buy.
For this, we advise you to make 1 publication = 1 product. Or 1 publication= 1 routine,
but you will only talk about the routine.

For this type of publication a concise but complete description is required. You can
talk about the active ingredients of products and their virtues as well as their
applications.

To help you we have prepared key sentences to use to describe each product.

8. HOW TO SET UP A PROFESSIONAL

9. LOLA AND GARANCE LITTLE TIPS
When should I publish?

On Instagram, the publication days to be preferred are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
either between 7am and 9am or between 5pm and 7pm. On Facebook the preferred days are
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. If you want to develop a new communication channel like
LinkedIn, the days to privileged are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

How often ?

Every other day’s pace is effective enough not to drown your followers* but still keep content. The
whole thing is to be regular if you decide to post every 4 days, it is better to stick to it. You do not
have to post only product photos, you can also post "ordinary" photos (flower fields, coffee...)
This will allow you to space your posts without losing your followers in too much information

How to build a relation between your followers and yourself ?

1) To reinforce this link, you can ask open-ended questions below your instagram posts. For
example: And you what is your Pier Augé routine? Your followers will feel concerned and will answer
you.
2) You can also interact with your followers by replying to their comments. Unless you are
overwhelmed with comments, try to respond to a maximum of these interactions or at least liking
them. Liking a comment can be a good way to interact with the subscriber when you don’t know
what to say. For example, when the subscriber comments only emojis*, the answer is not necessary,
a like is enough. On the other hand, not answering questions, criticisms (positive or negative) does

We think it’s fair to highlight certain information through your front-page stories. For example, for
Mother’s Day, we created a headline story with all the box references, prices etc. Thus information
is tidy and easy to find. For your beauty salon, you can put your prices, your treatments...

11. GLOSSARY

Un feed : Simply put, a feed is the sequence of photos published on your


account. It is sometimes called a grid or a photo gallery… It is the flow that
defines your universe, your editorial line.

The Set up : The Set Up corresponds to the staging of a subject to make it


more attractive. The addition of elements in the composition of the scene
creates a unique universe, with an aesthetic rendering.

The packaging : Packaging refers to the outer packaging or visible


packaging of the product.

Dive : In photography, diving is an axis with a shot from top to bottom.

Counter-diving : In photography, counter-diving is an axis of shooting from


the bottom to the top.

Followers : the term "follower" can be translated by follower or subscriber.


Follower means the subscriber to the profile of a personality or a brand.

Tag : from the English «to tag», it is «mark» or, on the social network,
«identify» a friend. To tag you must put a "@" in front of the name of the
account you want to identify.

Story : Stories are defined as a collection of photo content and videos that
generate engagement with users. They are fast. They only stay on the screen
for a few seconds and disappear completely after 24 hours.
You can spread them indefinitely on your feed by putting them on the front
page. Then becoming a highlighted story.

Highlighted story: We repeat here the very principle of the story but
instead of deleting itself after 24 hours, the latter will remain visible on your
profile if you decide (indefinite duration).

Community : group of people who interact, share and use information in


relation to their interests, demographic characteristics or work activities.
These groups form around a sense of belonging felt by their members. To
illustrate the term "community", it is important to emphasize that your
community will be different than that of a video game account for example.
