4-Read about different places to live and their characteristics.
There are big and small cities, big and small towns. Big cities and
towns have big city centers: there are cinemas, arcades and
shopping malls. This is different in small cities or towns: there
are small shops, stores and more accessible open spaces.
Villages are also different. They are in rural areas and they can
have a school, a church, a police station and a post office.
Some places are by a river, a lake, a lagoon or the sea. Others
are in mountains, valleys or plains. City, town or village, they

Hello, my name is Nahuel and I’m eleven years old. I live in Pellegrini a small
town in the west of the province of Buenos Aires. I like my town. There’s a
bank, a post office and a train station. Pellegrini is on the plains of La Pampa.
There are lagoons nearby. My favourite one is Mari Lauquen. I sometimes visit
my grandmother in Olavarría. It’s a big city with a big city center. I love the
arcade. It’s my favourite place downtown. And the pet shop! What’s your

Located in the northwest of the country, the province has the capital of San
Miguel de Tucumán. Neighboring provinces are Salta, Santiago del
Estero and Catamarca. It is nicknamed “El Jardín de la República” (The
Garden of the Republic), as it is a highly productive agricultural area. Cultural
and sport tourism is common in the province, and attracts a number of
Argentine tourists every year. The most visited destinations of the Province

TRADITIONAL FOOD
1- READ THE TEXT AND LOOK AT THE PICTURES IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND THE
MEANING.
Tamales are one of the most typical dishes in all of Latin America.
There are dozens of variants in terms of ingredients and method of
preparation, depending on the country.
In Tucumán the tamales are made from corn flour and anco-type
squash. The stuffing of the tamal is made up of beef or chicken,
olives, raisins, eggs and different condiments to taste to give flavor
to the whole.
All this is covered with the leaf of the corn and tied with strips of
the leaves themselves.
