towns have big city centers: there are cinemas, arcades and

are small shops, stores and more accessible open spaces.
Villages are also different. They are in rural areas and they can
have a school, a church, a police station and a post office.
Some places are by a river, a lake, a lagoon or the sea. Others
are in mountains, valleys or plains. City, town or village, they

Miguel de Tucumán. Neighboring provinces are Salta, Santiago del
Estero and Catamarca. It is nicknamed “El Jardín de la República” (The
Garden of the Republic), as it is a highly productive agricultural area. Cultural
and sport tourism is common in the province, and attracts a number of
Argentine tourists every year. The most visited destinations of the Province

Relief and animal life

Argentina’s fauna and flora vary widely from the country’s

mountainous zones to its dry and humid plains and its subpolar
regions.
The western fringe of the province of Tucumán is occupied by
the Sierra del Aconquija, The eastern part of the province, by
contrast, is flat, alluvial, and agriculturally fertile. Tucumán owes its
prosperity to the Sierra del Aconquija, which catches the warm moist
winds from the east. The resulting abundant rain feeds a number of
streams that descend from the mountains to join the Sali River.

The tucumanos tamales

Tamales are one of the most typical dishes in all of Latin America.
There are dozens of variants in terms of ingredients and method of
preparation, depending on the country.

In Tucumán the tamales are made from corn flour and anco-type
squash. The stuffing of the tamal is made up of beef or chicken,
olives, raisins, eggs and different condiments to taste to give flavor
