1 – MYSELF

My name is Axel, and it means “Father of peace”. I am very good at b. One thing I do each day
is praying and listening music.
My family and friends think I am cheeky, in some way, because sometimes I can seem a little
too confident, but I do not really feel like that. I hesitate between studying civil engineering or
metallurgy, because I am interested in both, but at the moment, I am more likely to do civil
engineering, to be a civil engineer.
I like to play basketball and to sing, even though I am not that good at singing. My favourite
food is plantain, because when it is cooked with a good chicken, no dish competes. My
favourite series are “Thirteen Reasons Why”, “Suits” and “You”.
I enjoy people in South Africa because they do not seem to care about appearance. They just
mind their own business. I think being a student can be strengthening because you get used to
getting out of your comfort zone.

I live in a family of four children. Jean-François is the eldest, Emilie the second one, Celia the
youngest, and so, I am the third one. So, we are two boys and two girls.
My dad’s name is Dominique, and I affectionately call him “Papa”. Two things I like about my
father, is his creativity, because he always has a solution to any kind of problems, and the
power of his words.
My mom’s name is Nadine, and I call her “Maman”. One thing I respect about my mother is her
sense of concession. She always thinks about her children’s happiness before anything.
I could not say who is my favourite sibling, but I obviously feel more attached to Celia, maybe
because she is my only little sister.
One thing I like about my family is the fact that we can always count on each other, in good, as
in bad times. There is not really anything that I dislike about my family. I mean, like in any
family, we have our qualities and our faults, but our faults do not bother me that much.

3 - MY HOME

My first dream house would be a two floors house, with a big garden, a basketball court, a
home cinema, a pool and a gym. Apart from that, the number of rooms will depend on the
number of children I will have, but anyway, the living room will be the most important room,
because I enjoy relaxing in large spaces, alone, with family or friends. I really love dogs, and I
cannot imagine my dream house without any of them. I could live with a maximum of ten dogs.
I would like my house to be far from disturbance and downtown, like in the countryside
perhaps, in my home country, to be close to my family.
I have a second dream house, that really has nothing to do with the first one, apart from the
dogs. It would be an average house in Japan, with a traditional Japanese garden, because I
really like the Japanese culture, and everything about Japan. It is my dreamland, and I would
really like to live there some years.

Anyway, whether it is in a big house in DRC, or in a typical house in Japan, I have to work
hard first so that I can stop dreaming about it, and rather achieve my dreams.
