LOST PARADISE,

Perhaps still salvageable:

When visiting Mayan vestiges like those of Palenque, Chiapas, one of my favorites,
this old personal reflection always returns to me, where I see our current reality driven by a
socio-economic system inadequate to our natural or divine design (depending on your
spiritual franchise). Where a somewhat divergent path from our ideal one, has been taken
into our creative, technological and environment improvement efforts and it seems
increasingly and clearly directed towards a some kind of greater chaos.

Without being pessimistic, but realistic, we already see signs in many ways:
- Global and local inequality in many countries: 1% owns 43% of the wealth on our planet.
- Severe famines in more than 3rd part of regions in 3rd world countries. Burundi and Yemen
as the most obvious example at the moment. https://youtu.be/KkKdWaiUg0c
- Economic wars disguised as ideological and fake patriotic positions, even in these times,
causing massive exoduses of refugees with Syrians, Venezuelans, Ukrainians as the most
recent, there are already 100 million refugees in the world and this is growing 10% annually.
- Global economic and health cyclical crises with not only terrible pandemics, but also with
the use of narcotics of all kinds, including the deadly fentanyl. Kensington Street in
Philadelphia and highly populated corners and bridges of homeless people in California are
just the tip of the iceberg of what is happening globally.

- Increase in the span of our temperatures causing huge thaws and an increase in hurricanes,
fires in forest areas and other climatic effects.
- Critical problems in large cities with the issue of water supply.
- Petty technological saturation with programmed obsolescence design in many cases,
invasive and ecologically unsustainable in the long term.
- Crisis of values, family disintegration, stress, anxiety and suicides that are very present even
in modern societies.

Many scientists have been telling us for decades that our world map with 10-11
billion inhabitants is impassable and we have just reached 7 to almost 8 billion in just 10
years, in another 15 we will already be at those population levels. We have to adjust
something on this path, all these global accommodations that have been making waves in
recent years are not strange to me, some are the effect of these wrong paths, others caused
in a union, crude and artificial way by our social architects at the highest level .
My old personal reflection rounds off with this fiction element, dreamlike or
perhaps - why not? – possible idea: If the Mayans had followed a more succesful expansive
dominant empire, similar to what the Roman Empire was, or what the US or China have been
aiming, of course without the warlike and violent ingredient as they had been demonstrating,
I am certain that another more promising route would give us more encouragement these
days, perhaps all these ruins and their people who persist immersed in this mistaken
modernity, have a lot to tell us... Still, perhaps the messages of this Mayan civilization can
rescue us from those lost paradise ... Still.

So many hidden messages in its history and vestiges: How to seek innovation by
following nature, develop the incredible and in many cases proven, human capabilities.
Perhaps we already had the capacity for clairvoyance, telepathy, a collective fraternity in
total harmony, the miracle of longevity with medicine and reconstructive diets or mental
self-healing, the capacity for self-sufficiency, a sustainable virtuous human collectivism to
the passage of time, science based on the secrets of nature, which surprises us every day with
silent shouts and messages on where to guide our path.

When you visit these ruins, a nostalgic smell of this alternative wisdom always
returns, when you see how they oriented the wind honoring Ik the Mayan God of the wind
with a "T" on the walls of their buildings or how they directed the water of their immediate
surroundings inside of its majestic constructions, when you see the use of materials, the
structural design, seeking to harmonize with the jungle, its scientific, astronomical,
mathematical, architectural, philosophical and health explorations, when one reviews its
mystique and ways of seeing similar death to Buddhist philosophy... Incredible vestiges
encourage hope that if we can try other ways, some communities in some corners of this
beautiful planet are already doing so.

There are few winds of hope, but positive and growing as well:
- The clear trend towards veganism and atheism worldwide (the latter perhaps more
neutral as an effect).
- The increasingly recurrent outbreak of communities isolated from the traditional
economic systems, without falling into issues of "strange cults."
- These waves to the new sustainable design.
- The campaign to seek clean and sustainable energy routes.
- Marked trend in many countries, with progressive models of government, without
falling into the prehistory of left, right or sterile populism. The Nordic countries are a
great example.
- The search for mental health as a priority in the work environment.
- The new global digital activism, increasingly promoted in networks, many causes
show good positive collectivity.
- The study of quantum physics applied to human capacity more seriously.
- This very massive new trend to seek "The new consciousness."
- The more in-depth study of the brain and human capacities, already with interesting
experiments and projects.
As this old Eagles song says: "Love will keep us alive", yes, but for the moment, the
mind brings him a little dizzy. Let's better navigate those hearts, that prodigious human
nature, do the good that those kind instincts that we bring by design dictate, there in the DNA
is the divine connection to that wise and unequivocal design of our beautiful planet, let's
make the connection, it's about time!
