(a) Bromine has two naturally occurring isotopes. One of them, 79Br has a mass of 78.918
amu and abundance of 50.69 %. If the average atomic mass of bromine is 79.904 amu,
calculate the mass and percent abundance of the other isotope, 81Br. (6 marks)

(b)Paracetamol is a pain killer with molecular formula C7H9NO2. A paracetamol


suspension for children was prepared containing 24.0 g paracetamol / L.

(i) What is the number of moles of paracetamol per L of suspension?


(ii) If the recommended dose is 72 μmol paracetamol / kg body weight, how
many mL of this suspension should be given to a child weighing 25 kg?
