health and safety in accordance with the local legislation, clients are requirements and
stipulations laid down in the HSE management system document. Ensure that all under
groundwork related an accidents are reported, investigated and that corrective and
preventive measures are taken, the accident investigation team has the power to stop any
work or operation under his authority on health, safety or environmental grounds until
effective measure have been taken. He will be control all site progress and management.

Method of Statement Electrical Resistivity Survey

The earth resistivities were measured by using Wenner Four-Pin-Point method or Four-Pole Soil-
Testing method based on BS 7430:2011 Test Standard. Typical configuration of soil test measurement
is shown in Figure 4. Current is injected between the two outer electrodes and the resistance (R) is given
by the ratio of the voltage between the inside electrodes to the current. In homogenous soil, the average
resistivity (ρ) in ohm meter is given by the following equation:
𝜌=2𝜋𝑎R
where
ρ = resistivity, in Ωm
a = the spacing between electrodes, in m
R = the resistance measured between the middle electrodes, in ohm ( Ω)
The resistivity values obtained at certain soil depth (D), by repeating the measurement with different
length of spacing (a), the average resistivity to various depths can be found and the results indicate
whether any advantage is to be gained by installing deeply driven electrodes in order to reach strata of
a lower resistivity. MAE X612EM+, clip wires and four electrodes copper- clad were used. Four
electrodes were buried in one line spaced “a” spacing between each electrode. The expected depth was
generated by using formula AB/4 whereas AB is the length between C1 and C2. Figure 5 shows the
tools and equipment used for vertical electrical sounding survey. The resistivity values of common
rocks and soil materials are shown in Table 2. Resistivity values of these rocks were greatly dependent
on the degree of weathering and the moisture content.

FIELD DATA ACQUISITION

MAE X612EM+ were setup at the center point of study length survey. Begin at the center, measure 22
m length to the left and right that will be placed four (4) electrodes as P1, P2 as potential electrode and
C1, C2 are current electrode. Four (4) electrodes will be buried in one line spaced ‘a’ spacing between
each electrode. The arrangement of the electrode will be pair left and right with P1 – C1 and P2 – C2.
The expected depth generate by using formula AB/4 whereas AB is the length between C1 and C2.
Thus, after the setup configuration will be referred from VES form and the spacing start from AB/2 –
1.5m and MN/2 – 0.5m and move to the next spacing until achieve requirement.
In LS2 the setup is VESC1C2P1P2 and protocol is Wenner to measure the resistance of soil. To
complete and aware the next move spacing, site supervisor will be using VES form to record data
measurement value for each move spacing ‘a’.
