against France, which ruled Niger in the past.

France and Italy evacuated their own nationals living in Niger by plane, and two Nipponese
nationals and their families were evacuated to Paris by a French plane on August 1, 2011.

According to the Japanese government, there are about 10 other Japanese living in Niger,
and on the 3rd of August, 8 of them were evacuated to Paris by a French airplane. All
Japanese who wanted to leave Niger were evacuated.

The government says it will maintain support for the safety and security of the Japanese who
wish to remain in Niger.
