THERE IS A PLACE IN BOYACÁ…

Tota is in the south of Boyacá near Sogamoso city. It is a small town but it is nice
because there are many places specially landscapes where people can go to enjoy
the nature. The principal park is in the north of the town, there, you can find statues
that represent the different activities of the town: agriculture, crafts and others. The
church, is one of the oldest of Colombia, so the people are very religious.
The weather is very cold, for this reason the people wear the “Ruana” a garment
make with the virgin wool of the sheep.
The most important craft of the town is the “cedazo”, it is a kind of strainer to
prepare the flour. In 2013 Tota won the award of the “Guinness World Record”
because a group of people made the biggest cedazo of the world.
The town is famous because it has a big lake with blue and cold water , there is a
beach called “Playa Blanca” and the people are very kind with the tourists that
arrive there.
Currently Tota is one of the most beautiful place of the country, for this reason it is
called “Wonderful Town of Colombia, in Boyacá”. Get know it!
