AMBATO CITY

Ecuador is recognized for having a vast and wealth unequaled natural

and cultural, with cities beautiful that captivates to anyone. Ambato city is

known as the "land of flowers and fruits" is located in the center of the Andes

Mountains and has a temperate climate with temperatures from 10 to 25C.

Also in Ambato you can find a variety of activities in this city, for example: hike

to the mountains, bike and the waterfalls. This town is a perfect place for a

family holiday.

According to the history of Ambato, this place was founded by Sebastian

de Benalczar in the year 1535. After several years of its foundation their village

grew as good as its infrastructure, which even the city served as an important

cultural and economic center, where were born excellent artists and thinkers

like Juan Montalvo and Juan Leon Mera. Today, the house of Juan Montalvo is

part of the tourist attraction of the city.

In the second place, I will mention other important part about Ambato, its

traditions and customs. For example, one of their traditions is the Festival of

Flowers and Fruits, where the culture and tradition are always represented and

its today one of the most important festivals in Ecuador. Other of thats

traditions are the folklore festivals, festivals of dance, floral games, international

paint, and consistent presentations of local cultural groups are part of their

traditions. The typical clothes they wear for the festivals is composed of a white

blouse, anaco, bayeta and hat.

 On the other hand, its tourist places and gastronomy are another

fundamental part of this city. Their gastronomy counts on a variety of typical

dishes of the zone, such as the tortillas with chorizouna, the caucara, the

fritada, guaguamama, chinchulines and the yaguarlocro. These dishes can be

tasted in several places strategically located throughout the city. Meanwhile the

main places are, Baos and its thermal waters, The Cathedral, the Chibuleo

Indigenous People and the pailn Del Diablo.

Ambato is as visited as the city of Guayaquil because they have unique

landscapes with a diversity of plants and fruits, the town is as incredible as

Guayaquil both have good places. The tourism in Guayaquil is as important as

for Ambato, because is main source of income for the city. On the other hand

these two cities have several differences and one of them is that the city of

Ambato is surrounded by high mountains, unlike Guayaquil the city is

surrounded by small hills and a very long river. In my opinion these cities are

the best places to pass a holiday in families or friends.

In conclusion, Ambato is a city very visited by many foreigners and

Ecuadorians. Also in this city you can find a variety of activities to spend time

with your family. The history and tradition are always represented in the festival

that they celebrate every year, Even the food is delicious and their people are

so friendly, For these reasons I can say that Ambato is a good place for go in

holidays and spend time with the family.
