While the majority of cases result in mild symptoms, some progress to viral pneumonia and multi-organ failure The virus is primarily spread between people during close contact, often via small droplets produced by coughing, sneezing, or talking. While these droplets are produced when breathing ‘out, they usually fall to the ground or onto surfaces rather than being infectious over long distances. People may also become infected by touching 2 contaminated surface and then their face. The virus can survive on surfaces for up to 72 hours. It is most contagious during the first three days after the onset of symptoms, although spread may be possible before symptoms appear and in later stages of the disease. 2. Purpose ‘* The purpose and objective of this Covid 19 Response Plan is to outline precautionary measures to be adopted in the prevention of transmission and infection of the Corona Virus for Abari Communications site. Training/Awareness All employees shall be briefed on the Covid — 19 Response Plan and a register shall be maintained. Posters and other appropriate educational material on Covid-19 Virus shall be made available to all employees and visitors. 4, Preparedness a. Cleaning/disinfection/spatialization of surfaces — Disinfection At our main entrance gate there will be a soap and water where visitors and any employee that is accessing the site will use to disinfect. The soap and water will be located at the kitchen entrance and messing area entrance. All Drivers for LDV, busses and mobile equipment operators shall be provided with their own sanitizer so that they can clean and disinfect their cabins as and when it is necessary. e. Define the site-specific social distancing requirements at work and at site offices Offices shall be occupied by one person, no shared offices except for offices measuring more than 12m2 Physical meetings in confined spaces shall be avoided and where necessary shall not be more than 2 hours long and spacing of 2m between individuals shall be enforced during all meetings. Our work is in open spaces and employees working on site shall maintain a social distance of 2m between them at all times. Employees to be issued with individual tools as far as possible to minimize the sharing of tools. f. Define the methodology of daily temperature checks Temperature checks shall be administered on all employees at the beginning of their shift using the no contract devices and records of these shall be kept on site at all times. All visitors shall go through temperature checks before entry into the site. All suspicious cases shall be referred to the hospital for further checks. h, Describe the visitors screening process All visitors shall go through the site office before they can be allowed access to site and they shall be registered on visitors log book, clean their hands, undergo temperature checks; All visitors shall undergo a Covid-19 Site Management induction. 5. Define the communication process to all the stakeholders i.e. hospital © Where an emergency occurs the following communication process shall apply; The supervisor shall notify the site manager who shall assess the situation together with the safety officer and call the Project Management team notifying them of the situation at hand ‘+ Where the situation warrants medicals attention immediately the supervisor shall call ‘the medical team indicating the following: 1 His/Her name, 2 Location, 3 company name, 4 situation requiring Ambulance. ¢. If results are negative, then proceed to work. Day 5: Conduct COVID Rapid Test Day 8: Conduct COVID PCR Test Day 11 onwards: No need for PCR or COVID Rapid Test, unless symptoms detected Employees who had a close contact with a returnee from other zones should avail themselves for testing on day 4 NOTE: Only positive results will be communicated within 48hours.
