Head section CPR
The Centuris™ Pro Electrical Bed features a CPR function for the head
section for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
The yellow CPR handles on either side of the sleep surface or under the head
section are used to disengage the driving gear located inside the adjustable
head section motor. The head section then descends by gravity. The movement
is assisted and absorbed by the actuator until the section reaches the rubber
stop on the bed frame.

CAUTION:
When handling electronic components, wear an antistatic strap (DES) to
prevent damaging the components.
NOTE:
The purpose of the proposed troubleshooting method is to limit as much as
possible the number of spare parts required and costs when analyzing the
failure.
NOTE:
It is advisable to lock out the electrical functions that are not affected by the
troubleshooting before starting the analysis or to disconnect the bed if the
failure does not affect an electrical function. In the latter case, all functions

Cleaning and care Steam cleaning areas
SHOCK HAZARD:
2
Always disconnect the bed before cleaning or servicing. Failure to do so could
result in equipment damage or injury. Refer to the Centuris™ Pro Electrical
Bed User Manual and to the chapters in this manual for additional
precautions.
General Cleaning
Clean the unit with a lightly dampened cloth and the disinfectants
recommended by the manufacturer. Do not put too much liquid on the parts to
be cleaned or use detergents that are too powerful.
Steam cleaning
These beds can be steam cleaned. However, in order to avoid any damage or
deterioration caused by high pressure or an abnormal surface temperature, the

following precautions should be taken:
Clean with a microfiber support only.
• avoid any excess water and use reduced steam pressure with microfiber

way as to reduce the pressure to an acceptable level.
Hard to Clean Spots
A B To remove difficult spots or stains, we recommend that you use standard
household cleansers and a soft bristle brush. Always dampen excrement or
reject stains in order to clean them more easily.
C
Disinfection
Dilute the disinfectants and/or germicides as indicated on the label. 4
2 After lengthy storage, always allow the bed to return to ambient temperature
before use.

Disconnect the bed from the mains power supply.
Connect the bed mains connector to the tester and then connect the tester to
the mains power supply.
Check that the bed is correctly powered by the test device (unlock the
functions if necessary).
Measure the leakage current measures as per IEC60601 or IEC62353 without
operating any function.

The value must be less than 500 µA.
Check the power cable and power supply unit if the value is outside of the
specifications.
Replace the cable or the power supply unit if necessary.

End-of-life equipment
The bed and its accessories should be cleaned and disinfected before de-
commissioning. E 1
De-commissioned materials (plastics, electrical components, etc.)
must be recycled in accordance with local recycling regulations. C B D
Please check and comply with the local environmental rules and
regulations (legislation for the application of Directive
2012/19/EEC).
As regards the battery:
Do not dispose of the power supply unit battery, which contains
substances and metals that are harmful to the environment and health
(Directive 2006/96/EEC).
2
The bed is designed for easy dismantling so that it can be destroyed and
reused in accordance with the applicable recycling regulations (e.g., electrical
parts, plastics, metals).
At the end of the bed’s life, Hill-Rom recommends that you contact a
specialist in the dismantling of beds or, if the bed can still be used, to donate
the bed to a charitable organization so that it can be used again.
Always clean and disinfect the bed before shipment for dismantling or
donation.
